NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny

Not too long ago, I was browsing Amazon when I came across the infamous NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny which we cannot get over here in the UK that easily. I noticed that it was the last one in stock and decided to buy it there and then as you can never have enough bronzers, right?

The NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny is a blogger and youtube cult bronzer as it's a universal shade which will flatter nearly all skin tones. The bronzer itself comes houses in rather cheap plastic packaging which doesnt seem to shut on the first attempt. I'm always scared that when I open it, it will snap in half as the little bit of plastic holding the two halves together just looks cheap and looks like it wouldnt take too much pressure. Despite how shoddy the packaging may be, it does come with a decent sized mirror which is always a bonus. Onto the actual product, its in a sun design just like the name suggests which wont take long to disappear once you've swirled your brush in it a few times.

For such a cult product, I really dislike it. You have to apply it quite a few times just to get some colour payoff which is not what I was expecting. I think I had to swatch it atleast five-ish times in the swatch above just to get it to show up. It's also very chalky and I end up with product everywhere after the first swirl of my brush. After applying it onto my skin, I find that I can get only a few hours wear out of it before it disappears completely which is a shame. I think this would be a good bronzer if you're just starting out with make up but if you're somebody like myself who likes to contour, then I would invest in a different bronzer with a much better colour payoff like the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer for instance. For now, this will be shoved to the back of my make up collection until I figure out what to do with it before passing it onto a friend.

You can purchase the NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny from eBay where the price varies from seller to seller.

  1. Ah that is a shame. To be honest I've actually never heard about this bronzer before but I will probably stay away!
