Current Haircare Routine

If you were to ask me what my biggest concern was, I would most definitely reply by saying my hair. Don't get me wrong, my skin and weight are still concerns however those can be changed almost instantly by working out and using products specific to my concerns but with my hair, it's a working progress. I've dabbled around many colours going from brunette to bleach blonde to red and all the way back again. I've finally settled on a colour that I'm comfortable with which I cannot express my love for enough however it does require a lot of upkeep to keep it soft and manageable and not so dry so I've been reaching for a lot of products to do so.

After washing my hair and keeping it wrapped up in a hair turban for a couple of hours or so to dry as much as possible, I spritz the Salon Services Protein Spray quite liberally all over. This literally helps to nourish your hair either if it's wet or dry and add some much needed shine back into your hair. I then follow this up with the Bumble and Bumble Prep Primer which is filled with with vitamins that helps condition hair, smooth away any tangles and makes any additional styling products work better. I've been using this for well over a year and I can certainly vouch for it's last statement! Before brushing my hair, I then use the Ojon Revitalizing Mist which is essentially a beefed up version of the Bumble and Bumble product but just smells better and feels more conditioning in the hair. 

After brushing my hair with hair brush similar to the Tangle Teezer except with a handle, I use another conditioning product in the form of It's A 10 Miracle Leave-In Product which I tend to concentrate on my mid-lengths downwards. This helps with literally all hair concerns and as I use it quite generously, I seem to be going through it at an alarming rate! As my hair lacks in volume, I like to use an oil that helps creating volume so I've been trialling the Percy & Reed Smoothed, Sealed & Sensational Volumising No Oil Oil which I concentrate on mainly my roots to my mid-lengths. This specifically states to use a small amount of drops and working it way through your hair however I've been using a lot and I've noticed that the minute I work it through my hair, it instantly looks more volumised albeit short lived. As the ends of my hair are heavily bleached, I tend to apply an oil that is quite nourishing so at the moment I've been reaching for the Ojon Rare Blend Oil Total Hair Therapy that is one of those products that you need to shake up to combine the layers in order to use. If I'm honest, I really do not like this product as no matter how little I use, my hair feels greasy almost instantly after using yet I'm determined to use it up. If you have any tips of how to make this work then they'll be more appreciated!

As you can tell, I do use a lot of products in my hair but that is purely to keep my hair hydrated as it can feel dry rather easily due to the amount of bleach in my hair. I've been using these products for the best part of six months and they have been working wonders for my hair however once I have used up certain products, they won't be getting repurchased as I don't want my hair to get too used to a product for it to then stop working for me altogether.

What hair products do you reach for?

Provoke Touch Of Silver Brightening Shampoo

When I was younger, I loved having my hair done so I would often be seen rocking blonde highlights or blonde hair as I preferred how I looked with blonde hair. Nobody ever told me that I had to look after it and use particular products in order to maintain the colour. There were a few occasions where my blonde turned a brassy shade or even a faint shade of green from swimming too often. Fast forward a few years later and I like to think that I now know how to look after blonde hair in particular by making it brighter even weeks or months after getting it done.

I've been reaching for the Pro:voke Touch Of Silver Brightening Shampoo (£3.19) which is bright purple in colour that helps neutralise brassy, yellow tones with its toning violet pigment and helps brighten the colour in as little as one wash. It's recommended to use as part of a three-step regime as well as to only be used twice a week for no longer than three minutes. It's suitable for natural blondes and bleach blondes, platinum or white hair so regardless of what colour blonde you are, you can most definitely use it.

I personally don't use it twice a week as I tend to use it nearly every single time I wash my hair which is three times a week and I often leave it in my hair for ten minutes. As my ends are often bleached blonde, I find that they can look brassy quickly hence why I leave it in for a lot longer than the recommended time just to brighten them up quicker. You can end up with a slight purple tinge if you leave it in for too long or use it more often although I haven't had that happen just yet, touch wood! I absolutely love using this and I use it almost immediately after getting my hair done and by the time that it needs doing again, my hair dresser always comments as to how blonde it looks. If you're not using a purple shampoo and you have blonde hair then you need to start using one!

It's A 10!

I've had quite the love affair with leave-in conditioners over the years and seem to stick to one for a few bottles before moving onto a new product and doing the exact same. It's a vicious cycle that seems to happen whenever I find something that works brilliantly the first bottle or so but after that, it no longer seems to impress me as much as it first did. Recently, I've found myself breaking that habit and instead of sticking to the same product every time I finish a bottle, I've been switching it up and using a new product altogether each time which has been working wonders for my hair. Recently, I've been reaching for the It's A 10 Miracle Leave-in Product which has been quite literally the saviour.

The It's A 10 Miracle Leave-in Product (£11.75+) is an American product that has slowly been making it's way across the waters and finding itself on UK soil. It's a spray on product that does ten things instantly including preparing dry and damaged hair; adding shine; detangling hair; controlling frizz; sealing and protecting colour; preventing split ends; stops hair breakage; creates silkiness; enhances natural body and can double up as a heat protection spray. 

Whilst I have had this in my stash since America, it's only been recently that I've been reaching for it to give my hair an extra shot of conditioning after washing my hair. Since I've been using it, I've noticed that my hair has definitely appeared shiner and silkier to the touch and I haven't suffered with a lot of breakage too. Despite the fact that I do straighten my hair on the regular basis, it hasn't helped a lot with the split end situation but it definitely has helped transform my dry locks completely. I don't necessarily agree with it's claim of being used as a heat protection spray as it doesn't state which temperature it protects your hair up to however after straightening, I do like to spritz it in generously and then brush it out. Whilst it may be slightly pricey for a leave in conditioner, I do definitely think that it's worth it especially when you have coloured treated and heat damaged hair that needs a little something to bring it back to life.

A Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Dupe?

I'm pretty sure that everyone at some stage of their life has used a variety of Aussie's products before as they're forever on some sort of offer wherever you look and have a wider range of products to suit anyone and everyone. I used to be obsessed with their 3 Minute Miracles in particular their Reconstructor, Shine and Take The Heat offerings which are quite literally the bomb! However recently, I've had a huge overhaul on what I use on my hair so sadly, I've had to stop using their products altogether. So instead, I've been reaching for the Carino Moisture Deep Conditioning Treatment which is from Aldi from time to time which is practically the same but just a fraction of the price!

The Carino Moisture Deep Conditioning Treatment (£2.49) is targeted towards dry/damaged as it contains Australian Jojoba Oil and Mint Extract that promises to leave your hair silky soft and shine as well as being completely manageable with results in as little in three minutes. It helps to deeply condition your hair whilst leaving it looking healthy and full of life which I'm sure is definitely what we all want from a conditioner!

I tend to use this mainly when my hair is feeling a little worse for wear which is normally on a  Sunday night after a week's worth of heat styling so I tend to dispense a generous amount and massage it into my hair before leaving it in for a lot longer than the recommended three minutes before washing it out entirely. Once washed out, it reveals beautifully soft hair that feels nourished and is manageable once dry. Whilst it may not smell like it's more expensive counterparts, I much prefer the scent of this as it smells more sweet almost like bubblegum. Overall, I do much prefer the Carino offering over Aussie's purely because of the fact that it comes housed in a squeeze tube and smells slightly better however it's only downfall is not offering enough varieties to suit a number of needs which is something that Aussie do cater for.

The Thicker & Fuller Hair Duo

For the longest time ever, I've been struggling with my hair when it comes to making it look fuller and thicker without having to resort to using hair extensions. Whilst I have had some success with the likes of L'Oreal Fibrology Shampoo + Conditioner that promises to make hair appear thicker with every use as well as using the Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Texturising Spray for days when my hair is feeling flat and thin however they're both just not cutting it. Fast forward to my daily wandering amongst Boots and I discovered that OGX have released some new ranges including the Biotin & Collagen Shampoo + Conditioner.

The OGX Biotin & Collagen Shampoo + Conditioner (£6.99 each) is a high performance blend of Vitamin B7 Biotin that helps infuse nutrients into every strand of hair whilst the concoction of collagen and hydrolysed wheat protein helps create the appearance of thicker and fuller hair whilst making it healthier and adding some much needed dimension. 

Whilst I pretty much get on with all duos, this one I haven't had much luck with purely because of the conditioner. The shampoo itself is brilliant however the conditioner is far too thick to even get out of the bottle. It's literally a case of I have to use my teeth to dispense the product and even then it's far too thick to spread through my hair evenly. Although with that being said, it sure does a brilliant job at making my hair feel ultra soft and nourished whilst appearing more healthier than before. In terms of thickness, it does make my hair feel slightly thicker come morning but it is short lived as it disappears almost entirely the minute you apply heat. If they made the conditioner just a little bit lighter in consistency then they would definitely be onto a winner however for now, I think I'll stick to L'Oreal Fibrology as I know that it works well for me.

Not Your Mother's Way To Grow Long & Strong Shampoo + Conditioner

For those of you who remember, last year I went over to America to spend my birthday with my relatives and do some much needed retail therapy! I didn't particularly have a list of things in mind but rather products that I've been wanting to try for a while as well as products that work out to be a lot cheaper than in the UK as well as those that we can't easily get here. One said products is the Not Your Mother's Way To Grow Long & Strong Shampoo + Conditioner.

The Not Your Mother's Way To Grow Long & Strong Shampoo + Conditioner (£7.59/$4.74 each) is a duo that helps aid your hair to grow longer a lot faster than normal shampoos and conditioners whilst strengthening the hair and prevent breakage with an anti-breakage formula. It contains a unique blend of essential vitamins, herbs and bioactive extracts that helps promote healthier, stronger, longer hair. This duo is aimed for already existing hair as opposed to those without hair.

Unlike most duos that I've tried in the past which have a unique scent, the Not Your Mothers Way To Grow Duo has a rather sweet, fruity scent that is neither overpowering or sickly. I like to squeeze out a generous amount of the shampoo and massage it into my scalp, concentrating it mainly on the roots and mid-lengths before leaving it in for a few minutes. After I've left it in, I then like to wash it out and follow up with the conditioner, doing exactly the same but leaving it in for longer whilst I concentrate on the rest of my bath routine. Since I've started using this duo, I haven't noticed a huge amount of hair growth but I have noticed that my hair does feel slightly more stronger than before. As much as I would love to say this has worked wonders for me, it truly hasn't although that is probably down to the fact that you have to use it consistenly, going through quite a few bottles of both before seeing obvious results. I think that when I'm next in the market for a new shampoo and conditioner and I just so happen to be in the States, then I will definitely be stocking up on this duo and truly put it to the test. 

Aussie Colour 3 Minute Miracle

I've noticed that since getting more bleach put into my hair to higlight the fact that I'm more ombre, my hair has been feeling more dry than normal. As I always use Aussie's 3 Minute Miracles as a Sunday night treat, I decided to buy one targeted specifically for coloured hair in the hope that it will end my dry hair woes.

The Aussie Colour 3 Minute Miracle (£4.99) is enriched with extracts of australian wild peach which helps to revitalize dry, dull hair and transform it into vibrant, luscious locks. Just like with all Aussie 3 Minute Miracles, it just takes three minutes for the miracle to happen although you can leave it on for a lot longer.

As mentioned, I like to use Aussie 3 Minute Miracles on Sunday and I like to apply a generous amount all over my hair, concentrating mainly on the mid-lengths down. I tend to leave it on for a lot longer than three minutes as I like to apply it and get on with the rest of my routine before washing it out completely afterwards. Since I've started using this, I wouldn't say that it has transformed my hair completely as it still has it dry days; even more so now due to a particular product to tackle various scalp issues (more on that soon!) but it's definitely made it more manageable in the sense that it's easier to brush after washing. I do definitely prefer their other 3MM's, in particular their reconstructor which is by far one of my favourites so I doubt I'll be rushing out any time soon to repurchase this particular one.

Dove Dry Shampoo

I tend to wash my hair three to four times a week which translates to every other day or when I have the time to. I love nothing more than washing my hair yet I find the whole task tedious in itself. For those days when I don't want to wash my hair yet it feels or look a little greasy, I turn to dry shampoo which is godsend in itself.

Recently, I've been reaching for the Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo (£4.59) which helps to absorb oil and leaves hair feel refreshed and volumised inbetween washes. Unlike most dry shampoos, this contains less starch which means that it doesn't leave that familiar chalky look that some well known ones can do.

My method of using dry shampoo is spraying it directly at the roots where I need it most, leave it for a few seconds before massaging it into my scalp which is the most effective way for me. By doing this, I'm getting rid of the majority of the oil whilst giving my hair some volume which recreates that just washed feeling. As it doesn't leave a chalky finish, I can spray as much or as little as I want all over which is brilliant news if you're as heavy handed as me when it comes to dry shampoo! This can also be doubled up as a slight texturising spray as if you spray it concentrating on the mid-lengths down, you can recreate a similar effect. What I love the most about this dry shampoo is the scent - it doesn't have a fake scent but instead has that just washed scent which disguises the fact that you may not have washed your hair in a few days. This is definitely one of the better dry shampoos that I've tried and is one that I will be repurchasing asap!

Carino Miracle Oil

As much as I love washing my hair, I love applying products to my hair a lot more. As my hair is naturally straight and dry, I tend to use really nourishing and hydrating products which I often use in conjunction with each other to get my hair as hydrated as possible. I always use a hair oil after every time I've washed my hair and recently I've been reaching for the Carino Miracle Oil which I actually bought last year as it takes me forever to finish up a hair oil.

The Carino Miracle Oil (£3.99) is a multi-use product that is suitable for all hair types. As it's enriched with argan oil, it will help strengthen, smooth and hydrate hair whilst adding an unbeatable shine. It will also help improve the overall condition of the hair with continued use by preventing split ends and breakage.

I've been using this oil since the start of the year and I like to apply a generous amount to the palm of my hair before rubbing my hands together and running my fingers through my hair, concentrating on the mid-lengths down. Since I've started using this, I do believe that the overall condition of my hair has improved as my hair definitely looks smoother and shinier without quite as much frizz. For the price, you seriously cannot beat it so it's definitely an oil to try! Unforunately, Aldi only sell this a few times a year so it's worth popping in every few weeks or so to see if they've got any in stock.

L'Oreal Ever Riche Nourishing Intense Mask

As my ombre is now a lot more blonder, I'm finding myself reaching for products that promise to nourish and hydrate my locks without compromising on the softness. Seeing as I'm currently using the L'Oreal Ever Riche Nourishing & Flowing Shampoo + Conditioner, it seems only fair that I use the matching hair mask for those days when my hair needs that extra shot of hydration.

The L'Oreal Ever Riche Nourishing Intense Mask (£6.99) has been specially designed to respect hair fibre, give hair rich nourishment whilst protecting from dryness without waxes.

I like to scoop out quite a generous sized amount and put it all over my hair, concentrating mainly from the mid-lengths down as that is where I've done the most damage to my hair in terms of ombre-ing it. Once applied, I like to leave it in for as long as possible before washing it out to reveal instantly silky, nourished hair that is soft to the touch. Despite doing a lot of damage to my hair, it always looks so much healthier after I've used this and people always comment on my hair the day after I've used this. I will most definitely be repurchasing this as it truly is a miracle worker!

L'Oreal Ever Riche Nourishing & Flowing Shampoo + Conditioner

When it comes to buying a new shampoo and conditioner, I take a few things into consideration such as if it's on a good offer, what it claims to do and if they have the duo in stock. One said duo that I've had on my list to try for absolutely ages is the L'Oreal Ever Riche range of which I've been trying the Nourishing & Flowing duo.

The L'Oreal Ever Riche Nourishing & Flowing Shampoo + Conditioner (£5.99 each) have been specially designed for even most over processed of hair. The Nourishing & Flowing range combines a nourishing care system with no sulphates to leave the hour feeling nourished, protected and flowing whilst feeling silky soft to the touch.

Unlike most shampoos and conditioners, the L'Oreal Ever Riche Nourishing & Flowing duo come packaged in squeezy tubes which although are convienant for getting out the very last drop, it means that you can run the risk of squeezing too much out which I've definitely done quite a few times. As I've been using this duo for the past few weeks or so, I've noticed that whilst they don't lather up like traditional duo, they leave the hair feeling incredibly soft and nourished. As I like to quite literally slather it on and leave it in for as long as possible, it doesn't weigh my hair down and I get the same results as if I had left it in for a matter of minutes. In terms of whether or not I prefer sulphate free shampoo and conditioners, I'm still sat on the fence as I do like that they won't harm my hair quite as much as those containing sulphates just I prefer to feel lots of lather in my hair, as it reassures me that my hair will be clean and soft.

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Mask

Since becoming a fully fledged ombre, I've noticed that my hair can feel a little dry at times especially after a few days of heat styling so I like to treat my hair to a mid-week pamper session with a intensive hair mask. As I reserve the likes of Aussie 3MM for the weekends, I like to use the matching intensive conditioner to the current shampoo and conditioner that I'm using at the moment so recently, I've been reaching for the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Mask.

The Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Mask (£4.79) is enriched with coconut extract to help nourish and hydrate dry, damaged hair. It comes housed in a generous 200ml blue tub with a screw cap lid which matches the products within the Hello Hydration range.

As my hair doesn't easily get weighed down from products, I like use a generous sized scoop of the product and run it all throughout my hair, concentrating it mainly from the mid-lengths down. I prefer to leave it in for as long as possible before washing it out as I like to believe that it will do more for my hair than leaving it in for the recommended five minutes. Once washed out, my hair instantly feels softer and healthier to the touch without a dry strand in sight! It leaves an unbeatable shine without much frizz once completely dry. This hair mask is the only product that has truly worked for me from the Hello Hydration range and is one that I may reconsider purchasing again in the future.

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo & Conditioner

Recently, I've been looking for a good shampoo and conditioner duo that will help keep my hair hydrated so I decided to try the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration range as it promises to keep hair moisturised and shiny.

The Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner (£3.99 each) are a duo that helps keep your hair hydrated and shiny with a moisturising formula of hawaiian coconut extract which is suitable for even the most driest, damamged of hairs.

I will admit and say that after the first use, my hair felt incredibly soft and nourished without a single dry feeling strand in sight! However this was very short lived as after the second use, my hair felt exactly the same - slightly dry yet soft to the touch. I'm not entirely sure where I went wrong as I didn't do anything different to my hair or use any different products between washes but yet it still didn't leave my hair how it was after the first use. I've actually stopped using this duo altogether in favour of something more nourishing with better results so this will feature in a monthly empties albeit being half full. With that being said, this could work absolute wonders for you so it might be worth giving it a go with an open mind.

L'Oreal Fibrology Thickening Mask

Hair masks are one of my guilty pleasures and one that I reserve mainly for the weekend as a little pampering treat. Majority of the time, I settle for one of the Aussie 3MM but somtimes I like to match my hair mask to the shampoo and conditioner that I'm using at the time so recently, I've been reaching for the L'oreal Fibrology Thickening Mask.

The L'Oreal Fibrology Thickening Mask (£5.09) along with the rest of the Fibrology range has been specially formulated to penetrate and instantly expand the hair to provide more body and bounce, to create the apperance of thicker hair with a cumulative long lasting effect. It comes housed in a simple blue tub with a screw top lid which matches the other products within the range. The product itself is pink which not only very unexpected but is quite appealing to the eye and smells exactly like salon quality products.

I like to generously scoop out quite a fair bit to coat all of my hair and not just concentrate on my length and ends as recommended to do. As it is light weight, I can get away with that as I know that it will not weigh my hair down as it will give me a lot of thickness instead. Once left in and rinsed out, my hair instantly feels thicker and fuller with an unbeatable shine that lasts until the next day or so. Just like with the matching shampoo and conditioner, I will definitely be repurchasing this!

L'Oreal Fibrology Shampoo & Conditioner

As I'm currently trying to embrace my new year beauty resolutions when it comes to spending less and using more, I've been slowly whittling down my haircare stash into a much more manageable affair. One duo that I've been using recently is the L'Oreal Fibrology which I bought at the beginning of last year when it first launched.

The L'Oreal Fibrology Shampoo and Conditioner (£3.99 each) have been specially formulated to penetrate and instantly expand the hair to provide up to 80% more body and bounce to create the appearance of thicker hair, with a cumulative long lasting effect. Essentially after a few washes using the duo continuously, the hair will feel thicker for longer as the innovative filloxane will remain in the hair.

From the first use, my hair instantly felt thicker and fuller which I was rather surprised about as my hair can be as flat as a pancake after washing. I noticed that after drying and styling, my hair had incredible volume and it felt as if my hair had texture despite only spraying in leave in conditioner and heat defence. Even after a few more washes still continuing with using the same duo, my hair felt so thick! Almost as if I had extentions in just without the hassle of applying them. Even my hairdressed commented on how much thicker my hair felt and how much longer it was despite abusing my hair daily with heat. Overall, this is a brilliant duo which definitely lives up to its claims and is one that I will definitely be repurchasing.

Got2B Guardian Angel Heat Protection Spray

When it comes to styling to heat products, I'm truly not fussed by which brand it is so long as it does the job and isn't too expensive. I've often repurchased the same heat defence for ages but in true beauty blogger style, I'm branching out and trying out different brands so I've settled with the Got2B Guardian Angel Heat Protection Spray for the time being.

The Got2B Guardian Angel Heat Protection Spray (£4.07) helps protect your hair against heat damage whether that be from an occasional blow dry to the frequent straightening from straighteners, it will protect it from heat up to 220ºC.

Unlike heat defences that I've used in the past which has had a nozzle, the Got2B Guardian Angel Heat Protection Spray is more of a spritzer which doesn't really disperse a great deal of product into my hair. It also gets clogged up rather quickly so I'm forever running it under hot water to help get rid of it. I've read a few reviews that have said that it smells like fruity bubblegum whereas mine literally smells like a more traditional heat defence or it's actually gone off. With that being said, it does help protect my hair from heat but it doesn't necessarily help with the occasional frizz or give an unbeatable shine. Despite it being cheap as chips, I will not be repurchasing it and would much rather spend my money on something else that will do a few other things than just protecting my hair.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Monochrome

I will never understand how fellow beauty bloggers can through a billion cans of dry shampoo a month as they must literally coat every strand of hair in order to use up an entire can. I personally don't use it very often and reserve it for those times when my hair truly needs it which is mainly either on third day hair or for some volume on a night out. 

My dry shampoo of choice lately has been Batiste in Monochrome (£2.99) which is a rather striking and spicy scent which is probably down to the odd combination of orange blossom and pepper. I like to spritz it a few times over my head before massaging it in with my fingers and then brushing it out which results in an instant hair refresh with a subtle scent. On third day hair, I find that it doesn't remove all traces of oil/grease but it does make my hair look a lot cleaner than what it did whilst making it manageable whereas when using it for a night out, it gives volume that lasts for a few hours. Overall, I quite like this dry shampoo and will definitely be trying more from the Batiste range.

Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo

Have you ever had your hair cut into such a style/length that you regretted it almost instantly? I have and I'm still paying the price for it. I used to have such long hair that was an absolute pain to dry/style as it was just so long and thick so when I was 13, I asked for it to be cut short to about shoulder length which has never truly grown past that length since. Fast forward seven years and with continuous hair cuts, heat defense and highlights, my hair is now almost at boob length which I'm so delighted with and it's all with thanks to Alpecin.

Alpecin (£5.49) is targeted as a caffeine shampoo that helps stimulate hair roots whilst washing which in turn reduces hair loss and promotes hair growth. Ideally, you apply it just like any ordinary shampoo but you leave it on the scalp for two minutes or more before washing out. The idea is that the caffeine is absorbed into the scalp which helps stimulate hair growth directly and the longer you leave it on for, the more caffeine will be absorbed.

I use Alpecin after finishing up a shampoo and conditioner duo which normally tends to be a week or two before my next hair appointment which I use every other day with a intensive hair conditioner being applied afterwards. I prefer to leave it on for up to five minutes whilst giving myself a head massage which I believe helps my hair absorb more of the caffeine. I've noticed that since using this, my hair grows rather quickly now with visible root growth a few weeks after my last hair appointment which just goes to show how incredible Alpecin works. One thing to remember is that everybody is different with different hair growth rates so this may or may not work for you.

Most of the time, I use one of the many Aussie 3 Minute Miracles but more often that not, I prefer using a matching hair mask to the shampoo and conditioner that I'm using. At the moment, I'm currently using the Herbal Essences Bee Strong Strengthening Intensive Mask.

The Herbal Essences Bee Strong Strengthening Intensive Mask (£3.99) is enriched with extracts of honey and apricot which helps to strengthen the hair whilst reducing the appearance of any damage all whilst making the hair beautifully soft and healthy. It comes housed in a generous 200ml yellow tub with a screw cap lid which matches the other products within the Bee Strong range. The product itself is very similar in colour to the caramel rolo yogurt part underneath the chocolate with a consistency of very thick custard which despite it's deceiving appearance, it smells utterly divine of very sugary apricots.

I like to use a generous scoop of the product and massage it in all over my hair and leave it on for up to ten minutes before washing it out. As I find this to be extremely light weight, I can get away with putting it all over my hair without weighing it down or leaving any residue which many other hair masks can do. Once rinsed out, my hair instantly feels silky soft and healthier with an incredible shine without frizz once dry. I must admit that this hair mask definitely makes up for the rather basic matching shampoo and conditioner duo and is one that I will consider repurchasing in the future.

It would appear that I have more beauty products in my stash than I do heads so I'm making a conscious effort to use up what I have in my stash before running out and replacing although that is easier said than done due to all the incredible deals that the shops have at the moment. One duo that I've had in said stash is the Herbal Essences Bee Strong Shampoo + Conditioner which I snapped up when it was first released last year and it's only taken me until now to start using it.

Since using this duo, I haven't really noticed a huge difference in my hair. Just like with most shampoos and conditioners, this makes my hair feel soft and nourished whilst easy to style and brush but there's nothing truly that makes this particular duo stand out, well, apart from it's honey-ish based scent but that's really it. Perhaps if I abused my hair with bleach again then maybe I'd see better results but I don't particularly fancy putting both myself and my hair through that again. Sorry Herbal Essences but this truly just a very basic shampoo and conditioner duo!
