After seeing many people raving about this particular nail varnish, I finally decided to pick it up and I definitely haven't regretted it! It's a minty shade which sits inbetween Essie's Mint Candy Apple and Absolutely Shore if you were wondering. This has a really good brush on it and it only needed two coats until it was completely opaque. I think I might check out what other colours they have from this particular range..

When I received the tiny little bottle of the infamous Nails Inc Porchester Square in my Boots Beauty Advent Calendar, I was over the moon as it is one of the most raved about Nails Inc nail varnishes. It's a greige lavendar that I've likened to be similar to Ciate Bon Bon in some aspects. One coat is all that is needed to get opaque coverage which makes it one of the best nude nail varnishes I currently own. With that being said, it sadly doesn't knock Barry M Gel Hi Shine Lychee off the top spot for being the best nude..

Out of the entire line up that Barry M released for their Summer collection for the Gelly Hi-Shine range, Blue Grape is by far my favourite colour out of them all. It's a bright, cobalt blue which looks very similar to the infamous Nails Inc Baker Street which apparently is a favourite of Beyonces'. 

Whilst Blue Grape is such a bright colour, I found that it would have taken at least two coats to become opaque hence why I've put a white base on before hand to help enhance it and make it just a little brighter. I've been wearing this for a little over three days and I've received so many compliments on my nails! Even Liam has noticed what a beautiful colour it is and he rarily notices when I've painted my nails unless I point it out to him. I think this colour would be perfect when paired with a tan so I think I might bring it along with me to America next year.

One thing I love the most about Autumn is digging out all the warm clothing. But more importantly, painting my nails an appropriate colour for the season. I picked up the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine nail varnish in Pomegranate towards the end of August with the sole purpose that this shade would be perfect for Autumn.

Pomegranate is one of those shades that can look either more pink or more red depending on what light its in. The picture above is doing it no justice as it's definitely more burgundy in person. With most of the Gelly nail varnishes I own, I find that each needs two coats which does make the whole painting the nails process a lot longer. However with Pomegranate, I found that one coat was definitely enough which I'm rather shocked at. The colour of this just looks so effortless and classic and I wish that I had started wearing this on my nails sooner!

I find that the wear time of this is pushing roughly a week before noticeable chips start appearing which is impressive even for me. Although, that may be down to the fact that I did apply two top coats purely to make it look a lot shinier.

I know that Summer is now practilly over and Autumn is finally here but I've had Topshop Keepin' It Sweet staring at me for absolutely ages that I thought it was about time I tried it. Sophie from Candy Cane Heart actually bought this for me as a birthday present so it's been sitting around unused for a little over three months now.

Keepin' It Sweet is one of those pink shades that just reminds me purely of strawberry milkshake. It's almost a neon pink shade that has faded which makes it look ever so bright on the nails which is down to putting a white nail varnish on before hand. What I like the most about Keepin' It Sweet is that it enhances whatever tan I have left from my holiday to the Isle Of Wight a couple of weeks ago whilst being rather eye catching at the same time. 

I really like the formula of this topshop nail varnish so I'm intrigued to try out more to see if they are exactly the same quality and consistency. I found that with the majority of my nails, I have to use two coats just to make it bright enough and to hide any white nail varnish that was peeping through.

Over the weekend, I had a Wedding Reception to attend to up in Lincoln for Liams' good friends Sim & Si. The reception was absolutely beautiful! There was a photo booth where you could get your picture taken with silly props, endless trays of food, incredible music being played across the dancefloor and it was generally an incredible atmosphere.

As I was wearing a baby pink dress, I thought I would colour co-ordiate my nails to match. Essie's Muchi Muchi was the closest thing I had on hand and after near enough five coats, it was opaque! I decided to diamonte my thumb nails and create a "white tip" except with diamontes of course. It's a simple look but I loved the way it looked with my dress.

China Glaze in Whirled Away: £6.99

Rimmel Lyrca Pro in Aqua Cool: £4.59

After picking up China Glazes' infamous Whirled Away a week ago, it hasn't left my nails. This combination reminds of japense cherry blossoms just a blue version instead of pink. This is actually my first China Glaze nail varnish after picking it up from eBay from a trusted seller. Whirled Away is a clear polish with small and large hexagonal black and white particles suspended in the varnish along with long black stripes. It's similar to the L'Oreal Confetti Topcoat which I'm eager to get my hands on still. I've had so many compliments on my nails these past few days and I personally think that this would look awesome layer over nudes.

I layed it over one of Rimmel's Lyca Pro nail varnishes. I chose the shade Aqua Cool as I personally fancied something a little cooler in color compared to the pinks and purples I've been sporting on my nails in recent weeks. It's a definite cool toned blue which is perfect for those cold winter months unlike the spring/summer days we're having right now. I've currently been wearing these for around three days now with only the minimal wear and tear on the tips!    

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in Greenberry

BARRY M GELLY HI SHINE NAIL PAINT IN GREENBERRY: £3.99

I've recently had a boots splurge or three and one of the items I picked up was this beaut, Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in Greenberry. I haven't had much success with Barry M nail varnishes - the cult Peach Melba shade was far too streaky and the Instant Nail Effects in Silver chipped after only a few hours so I was a little dubious to see if this was any different.

After five days of wearing it with no chips to be seen and the intense high shine/gloss still there, my thoughts about it being rubbish have disappeared. It is opaque within one coat (two to be on the safe side) and the shine of the finish is amazing - it looks as though you've put a top coat on when you haven't. 

Seeing as I didn't buy into the whole Mint Candy Apple by Essie obsession, this has made me not want to be that particular shade for a little while longer as it is the perfect mint green shade for our wet spring/summer.

Sinful Colors Nail Varnish in Island Coral

 

SINFUL COLORS NAIL VARNISH IN ISLAND CORAL: £1.99

Over the past few months, more and more brands are slowly starting to release their American shades/brands over here in the UK so you can understand as to how excited I was to see a concession stand of Sinful Colors in my local boots yesterday. After picking up Cinderella whilst I was in the US, I was more than happy to pick up a few more shades especially when they're at a dirt cheap price of £1.99.

Sinful Colors' Island Coral is a bright pinky-coral that I don't think looks too pink nor too coral - just a great middle ground which I'm sure would look amazing with a tan. The consistency is very sheer and runny which therefore makes application a lot longer. Once you've applied at least two coats (all that is needed for complete opacity) you are left with a glossy finish which can be enhanced with a top coat.

With previous experience from Cinderella by Sinful Colors, wear time is around three to four days before it starts to look chipped which all depends on nail care from person to person. Boots are currently running their usual three for two deal which makes it all the more worth while to pick up a bottle or three in my case. What do you think of this shade?

 

NOTW Hallucinate Utopia

After having my nails bare for a few days, I thought it would be about time that I painted them. I settled on Models Own Utopia as I just can't seem to get enough of this colour! The shade seems to intensify and get darker the more it's own (which seems to happen in my case) which just makes this particular colour one of my top favourites.

Hallucinate is a nail varnish that I got from America, it's by Wet n Wild and it's in their Wild Shine range. Hallucinate isn't like any other glittery nail varnish as it's a hell of a lot thicker and takes forever to dry as it's so thick and gloopy. It's packed solid with multi coloured glitter which is sure to compliment any colour.

NOTW Aqua Cool

Aqua Blue is most definitely the perfect name for this shade - it's a cross between cornflower blue and demin which just makes it so appealing. I love how it looks on my nails and just how eyecatching it is. I found that this only required two coats along with a helping of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri and I'm good to go. The formula of this means that it dries so quickly which is a bonus for anybody who needs to paint their nails in a rush. The only downside I have of this is how it applies - the size of the brush means that it can coat your entire nail in just a few strokes but I find that it leaves a gap in the middle due to the amount of strokes which is a little annoying. But none the less, it can be fixed with another coat afterwards. I can definitely see myself wearing this on cold winter days when there is frost on the ground.

NOTW Nude Beige

After having Models Own Utopia on for about two weeks or so, I fancied a change but keeping in the nude theme. Nude Beige is the darker version of Utopia but with more brown tones rather than the lilac tones in Utopia. I really do like how Nude Beige looks on my nails as it looks more professional in my eyes. I can definitely see myself wearing this shade more often throughout the next few months.

I'm finding myself being drawn to nude nail varnishes to match my obsession with nude lipsticks so I couldn't resist picking up Nails Own Utopia. Utopia is a nudey grey with lilac undertones which would be very flattering amongst all skin tones. It applies true to colour on the first coat but I can't help but apply another one just to ensure that I haven't missed any places. I love the brush on this as well as the formula as it dries so quickly! Overall it's definitely worth £5 and is worth investing in!

NOTW: Cinderella

If a nail varnish company were to bring out a range of colours to represent different disney characters, then Sinful Colors would definitely be the one to do this!

Cinderella (the nail varnish) is a sheer pale blue with a slight pink glitter that is just eye catching when the sunlight hits it. I haven't been able to stop staring at my nails since when I painted them as it's just such a unique colour. The only problem I have with it, is that it takes atleast three to four coats just to get rid of the sheerness. This may be a problem for people who are not patient when painting their nails.

NOTW #5: Lilac Chantilly Carnival

After having my pampering day on tuesday in preparation for my birthday, my nails were looking a little chipped and dull on saturday, so I decided to spruce them up a little. I had picked these nail varnishes during one of my many Birthday Hauls and I'm quite delighted that they compliment eachother nicely.

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in shade 30 Lilac Chantilly is such a nice metallic shade of purple. It applies nicely and only requires one or two applications in order to get the full metallic look. Technic in Carnival adds enough glitter and sparkles to make the nails stand out but looks as though not much effort was required. I think I had to apply about three coats to get the right amount of glitter that I wanted.

Oh, and excuse the fact that some of my nails are chipped. I did paint these in a rush on saturday and I have been doing quite a bit since then.

I wouldn't say that I cant afford Nails Inc polishes, I just can't see the point in spending £11 on one varnish when you can get 3 or 4 for the same price.

So when InStyle were (and still are at the moment of posting this!) giving freebies of Nails Inc polishes, I snapped up the chance and get this little beauty.

It's name is Power Pink when it's clearly more purple than pink. I like how it applies nicely and only needs two coats to fully cover your nails.

I hadn't applied a clear coat on these because as soon I had painted them, I rushed to do some baking so they clearly are cake proof nails!

I honestly do love this colour and it will definitely be used throughout summer.
