Original Source Wild Cherry & Nettle Shower Gel

I've found myself becoming a little bit of a hoarder recently which I'm sure is a common trend among beauty bloggers. I tend to buy a lot of the same product when it's on offer so that I don't run out of it for quite a while thus saving me some money in the long run especially when I'm currently saving up to move out. However, I've recently found myself feeling inundated with shower gels as it appears that I've bought too many at once so as well as giving them to friends and family, I thought I better start reviewing the ones that I like the most which is why you've probably clicked over onto my blog.

The Original Source Wild Cherry & Nettle Shower Gel (£2.30) is one of those scents that I instantly grativated towards as it contains cherries and I LOVE the scent of cherries as well as it being a limited edition product too! It's actually one of those "as chosen by you" products as Original Source got 358,682 Facebook fans from around the globe to help choose this mysterious and tempting scent and I must admit, it's a brilliant choice! Also these are forever on offer at a £1 and have so many different scents to choose from!

Just like the rest of the Original Source Family, this smells really fresh and fruity without being too overpowering. It comes out in a really vibrant colour which lathers up really well. Despite it's vibrant purple colour, it doesn't stain the skin or bath! Unlike some shower gels that can linger on the skin hours after using, this particular scent doesn't as it just seems to blend in with your natural scent that we all seem to have. Long term readers will know that my other half uses a lot of shower gels and after giving him a few bottles of this particular one, he turned round to me and said that he didn't like the scent of it at all which means that there's more of it for me to use!

A Shower Gel Good Enough To Eat (With A Good Cause Too!)

I'm sure that I'm not alone when it comes to not wanting to spend a fortune on products like shower gel, soap etc. I personally see it that you're literally washing away money as there is really no difference between a shower gel that cost £1 compared to one that cost £30+ apart from the brand/scent/ingredients but realistically, they all do the same job. With that being said, when I came across the I Love.. Perfectly Peachy Bath & Shower Creme, I had to stock up and buy a few bottles as they've teamed up with CoppaFeel to help promote breast cancer awareness.

The I Love.. Perfectly Peachy Bath & Shower Creme (£2.99) is a paraben-free and PH-balance shower gel that not only smells of heavenly ripe peaches but also gently cleanses and cares for the skin with a non-drying formula boosted with extracts of passion flower and peach. However it's much more than just a showergel, it has a handy #ShowerHijack guide on the back of the bottle which explains how to thoroughly check your breasts for early signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

I Love.. are the first company to include information like this on their packaging and it is such a great way of putting the information out there whilst making it accessible but more importantly, fun! It literally takes just five minutes to check your breasts and whilst you're in the shower/bath, it's literally the most ideal place to do so. I'm sure that once I've used up the ginormous bottle, I'll keep the back part and some how frame it in the bathroom so every time I'm in the bath, I literally CoppaFeel as it were ;)

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash

Out of Soap & Glory's entire shower gel line up, I've only used Clean On Me which long time followers will know that I use as a shaving lotion. In a bid to use up my bathing products as well as to try more from the brand, I've started using their Sugar Crush Body Wash which I've had for the longest time.

The Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash (£6.50) contains a weird concoction of lime oil, coolcapsule X, kiwi juice water and omega-rich veggie oil which makes this one heck of an energising, revitalising, lather rich body wash.

Unlike most shower gels that I've tried in the past, this one is rather thin in consistency so I like to go a little pump crazy until I get my desired result which varies anywhere between three to five pumps depending on how lather-happy I'm wanting to go. I prefer applying this on a loofah rather than onto my hands as it lathers up better and it doubles up as an exfoliator as well. This definitely doesn't disappoint as it lathers up nicely whilst smelling incredibly delicious! I will most likely be repurchasing this soon as it's by far one of the better shower gels I've tried.

Imperial Leather Day At The Spa Shower Gel

I've always believed spending a lot on money on shower gel is pointless as it will do exactly the same thing as one which cost a lot less so I always make it a habit to buy a bottle or two of whichever shower gels are on offer. The latest shower gel that I've started using is the Imperial Leather Day At The Spa Shower Gel.

The Imperial Leather Day At The Spa Shower Gel (£2) comes housed in a see through, easy to squeeze bottle with a flip bottle lid which is not only convienent to see how much product you have left but it's very easy to dispense. As it contains extracts of shea butter and honeysuckle, it smells very exotic and thus extremely nourishing on the skin. Despite the formula being very nourishing, it doesn't disappoint on the lather front as it creates a decent amount of lather which once washed off, the scent lingers on the skin for a little while afterwards. This is definitely one of my favourite ones from the range and one that I will most probably be repurchasing again.

Imperial Leather Shower Gel in Enchanting Romance

I always buy shower gels that are on offer as I don't see the point in spending a lot of money that will essentially be going down the drain, literally. One that I've been using recently is the Imperial Leather Shower Gel in Enchanting Romance which is actually the shower gel version of the Imperial Leather Bewitching Bath Creme that I was raving about not so long ago. 

The Imperial Leather Shower Gel in Enchanting Romance (£2.00) comes housed in eye catching, easy to squeeze packaging with flip bottom where you simply have to squeeze out the product. As the packaging is not only appealing to the eye, it's see through so you can clearly see how much you have left. This smells exactly like the bath creme albeit a little more floral which is probably due to the blend of plum blosson and violet. As the formula is silky smooth, this creates a decent amount of lather which both lingers on the skin for a few hours as well as make it soft to the touch. This is definitely one of the better ones that I smelt from their Signature range and is one that I will most probably be repurchasing.

Original Source Lime Shower Gel

I'm forever finding myself buying shower gels for Liam as he has a habit of using them as both a shower gel and a shampoo and squeezes out far too much for one use. I've tried many times to get him to use a seperate shampoo for his hair but to my dispair, he would much rather settle with a shower gel as apparently it makes his hair feel softer. So on a recent shopping trip, I found myself buying quite a few shower gels including a cheeky one for me which I technically didn't need in the form of Original Source Shower Gel in Lime which is forever on offer.

The Original Source Shower Gel in Lime (£2.30 normally when not on offer) is one of their more overpowering and enriching shower gels. As it smells like freshly sliced limes, it really wakes you up first in the morning with it's zingy, empowering scent. Just like with the rest of their lineup, the formula lathers up really well which leaves the skin feeling soft and clean. As the scent is quite string, I've found that this lingers on the skin for a while which may not be ideal if you prefer to apply a body lotion straight away after washing. As these are always forever on offer, I will definitely be repurchasing this as well as trying out a few new scents.

No7 Blissful Body Wash

I know that this month, my blog has been a little No7 crazy with this being my fourth review in the short space of three weeks however I believe that they are a little underated in the beauty blogging world. I also wanted to use all their bath products at the same time to see how well they worked together which of course meant that I would be reviewing them all around about the same time. This time however, I'm reviewing their Blissful Body Wash which I've been putting to the test for the past few weeks.

The No7 Blissful Body Wash (£9.50 for 200ml) is unlike any other body wash that I've used as for starters, it's more of a body milk rather than a body wash. It contains a nourishing blend of argan oil and grapseed oil which helps protect the skins barrier whilst conditioning the skin from top to toe without leaving the skin dry. I found that I went through this far too quickly for my liking which is probably down to it being a body milk-like consistency unlike a standard shower gel. Despite this, I found it pleasant to use and it did the job. I noticed that unlike some body washes I've used, this didn't irritate my skin especially after shaving and using a salt scrub. Overall, whilst this isn't one of the most cost-per-use-friendly body washes I've used, I can definitely see myself repurchasing this at some point especially when I need some more me time.

Sanctuary Body Wash

If like me you have back ups of back ups then you call feel my pain when you feel swamped with products. In a bid to reduce my uncontrollable stash, I've been trying to use up a certain amount of products before I allow myself to buy more although that is a lot easier said than done especially with the offers that Boots seem to have on everything at the moment. I received the Sanctuary Body Wash in their Top To Toe Glow Pamper Tin back at Christmas and I've finally dug it out and started using it.

The Sanctuary Body Wash (£5.50) contains a revitalising blend of essential oils and spices which helps cleanse and refresh the skin whilst teeny tiny capsule beads filled with jojoba oil and sesame burst on the skin, adding some much needed nourishment for a silky smooth finish. On first appearances, it doesn't look like anything special as the product comes housed in a clear pour style bottle where you run the risk of pouring either too much or too little.

When I first used this, I couldn't get over the scent as it smells absolutely beautifully which is definitely down to the blend of essential oils and spices. Whilst it doesn't lather up quite as much as other shower gels, it does leave your skin feeling silky soft and clean. The scent lingers on your skin for a little while after using so if you don't like that then this may not be up your street. Despite it being housed in quite a large container, it doesn't last as long so you may end up going through this quite quickly which may be an issue as it does seem rather pricey for a shower gel. I quite like using this but I can't see myself splashing out for it as there are better shower gels out there for a fraction of the price.

Original Source Vanilla & Raspberry Shower Gel

ORIGINAL SOURCE SHOWER GEL in VANILLA & RASPBERRY - £2.30

Original Source is a brand that I associate with my Dad as he's always used them in the past especially the lime one! Their products come in a range of different fragrances which are all created using a blend of real fruit oils and extracts and are definitely the brand to turn to when you're wanting a serious smelling shower gel. All their products come housed in easy-squeezey plastic packaging with a flip bottom where you simply have to squeeze the product out. As the packaging is see through, you can tell which ones are which simply by the colour.

I decided to pick up their Vanilla & Raspberry one as it's a more soothing alternative to some of their overpowering ones. This smells exactly like milk bottle sweets which brings back so many memories of when I was younger as I was constantly eating these! As the formula of this is rather silky smooth, it helps create a generous amount of lather which leaves the skin feeling soft which lasts for about a day or so afterwards. As the scent is more gentle than others, I've found that this actually lingers on my skin which is right up my street. I can already seeing this becoming a love affair as I've already bought a back up for when I run out.

Radox Energise Key Lime & Peppermint Shower Gel

RADOX ENERGISE KEY LIME & PEPPERMINT SHOWER GEL - £1.99

I'm a big fan of citrus scents so when I found the Radox Energise Key Lime & Peppermint Shower Gel on offer, I snatched one up and have been waiting to use it ever since as I prefer to have only one shower gel on the go at any one time. As it contains an energising blend of key lime and peppermint, it is supposedly meant to leave you feeling energised and ready to take on the day.

As I mainly have baths at night, I didn't really experience the true energising feeling that it creates when I used this. Although whenever I used it in the mornings, I did definitely feel ready to take on the day and I felt more productive than normal. I found that this lathered up remarkably well and a little certainly does go a long way. Sadly, the scent doesn't last long on the skin which I don't mind as I prefer smelling my body lotion over my shower gel. As a basic, inexpensive shower gel, I recommend this especially if you love citrus scents as much as I do as you wont be disappointed!

Radox Berry Burst Shower Cream

RADOX BERRY BURST SHOWER CREAM - £1.99

I was digging through my stash of bath products when I came across one of the Radox Shower Creams which I had picked up last year whilst it was on special offer. They're housed in the typical Radox packaging with flips lids and a squeeze dispense mechanism. There are three within the range - Coconut Kiss, Cherry Blast and Berry Burst which is what I ended up buying.

Berry Burst reminds me of a very artifical eton mess - a mish mash of summer berries with yogurt. Whilst the scent doesn't particularly wow me, I guess the amount of lather it creates adds up for it. I only need to dispense a small amount of this and it lathers up rather well which leaves the skin feeling smooth and cleansed. Whilst I wasn't overly impressed with this, it did the job and was cheap as chips and I would say that if you're looking for a budget shower gel then go for one of the Radox Shower Creams.

Soap & Glory Clean On Me Shower Gel

SOAP & GLORY CLEAN ON ME SHOWER GEL - £6

Said to be on of their most popular products from the Soap & Glory range, Clean On Me has their original sweet scent which contains an added bonus of a built in body lotion which comes housed in a massive 500ml bottle which should keep you going for a few months or so. A handful of this stuff lathers up beautifully, smells delightful and leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean without leaving it stripped and dry. Whilst most use this for its main purpose as a showerl gel, I opt to use it as a shaving lotion instead and I find that it leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth after shaving. Whilst it may be pricey to use as a shaving lotion, it does work out quite good cost per use and I find that one bottle lasts me for about five months or so.

Nivea Diamond Touch Shower Cream Oil

NIVEA DIAMOND TOUCH SHOWER CREAM OIL - £1.99

Shower gel is one of lifes' basic products which is up there with toothpaste, deodorant and socks where in most cases you pay for what you get. As I like to keep the basic essentials costs down and get things if possible when they're on special offer, the Nivea Diamond Touch Shower Cream Oil was definitely no exception especially when I got change back from £1 back in August last year.

The Nivea Diamond Touch Shower Cream Oil is a cream oil formula that creates a serious amount of rich, creamy foam which mixed with water which leaves the skin irrestibly soft and nourished. It is enriched with diamond shimmer which creates the appearance of glistening, healthy skin which is what I'm sure everybody is after. My personal favourite bit of this shower gel is not only the cost but the scent. It has extracts of white calla lily which smells so feminine and lingers on the skin hours after you've used it. It's definitely one of those products that has wowed me despite being so simple and I would definitely repurchase once I've gotten through my stock pile of shower gels which I have seemed to have accumulated quite a fair bit over the festive period.
