My favourite lipsticks!!

"Lipsticks and Leopard print"

This was requested by the beautiful Veronica at Frowardfashion

So despite only starting my lipstick collection just under a month ago, I definitely have a few firm favourites that I cannot leave the house without!

THESE ARE IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER!
RIMMEL LASTING FINISH LIPSTICK IN 006 PINK BLUSH; RRP £4
I remember first seeing this lipstick in a magazine last year and I ripped out the article with it and kept it ever since. I bought earlier this year and had used it once but I personally didn't think it looked right on me. However, it's a firm favourite because I believe that when I get a tan, it will look right. Also, whilst applying this, you can literally smell sweet cinnamon - if there is such a thing?

NATURAL COLLECTION SHEER NATURAL IN LOTUS; RRP £1.99

This has to be my most over-used lipstick! Despite it not showing much use in the pictures, a little surely goes a long way with this lipstick. It's a nice natural nude looking colour which is how I like my lipsticks.

NATURAL COLLECTION MOISTURE SHINE IN PINK MALLOW; RRP £1.99

I remember swatching this in the shop and loving it to pieces but then taking it home and not being too keen. However, when I wore it the next day to work, everybody loved it. I believe this is almost like my natural lip colour but just a little brighter. This is a shade that I have to be in the mood for.

NATURAL COLLECTION SHEER NATURAL IN SORBET; RRP £1.99

Despite only buying this the other day, it's already a favourite. I cannot wait to start wearing it out and about. It's just like Lotus but a shade darker with more coral/pink tones through it. And I like the fact that it gives me lips a light glimmer.

NATURAL COLLECTION SHEER NATURAL IN SAND CASTLE; RRP £1.99

This lipstick is the same as Sorbet (bought the other day but is already a favourite). It's a nice subtle colour which is just a tad darker than Sorbet which mean's that it's still noticeable but more natural looking.

L-R: PINK BLUSH; LOTUS; PINK MALLOW; SORBET; SAND CASTLE.

So there we have it, my favourite lipsticks. I'm sure over the next few months, my collection of lipsticks will have grown considerably and I'll have some new favourites.

Do a post and show me your favourite lipsticks and leave a link below in the comments so that I can see :)

"What a waste of Vodka!"

These are not perfect btw!

Whilst looking through blogs, I was noticing a little trend popping up here, there and everywhere. People were starting to have newspaper style nails - which do look pretty cool, I must admit!

Mini Boots Haul

"I would much rather buy 3 cheap lipsticks for the price of one expensive one"
Yes, I have only gone and treated myself to two more lipsticks whilst in town with Liam today as well as buying three more after posting about my lipstick collection.
I only actually popped into Boots because I wanted Natural Collection's Corrector Stick in Green and luckily they one! But I couldn't help but resist buying a few more lipsticks, especially when they had so many nice shades..

SORBET; £1.99

When I first swatched Sorbet - I noticed how delicately pinky/coraly it looked and the more you build up the colour, the more noticeable the colour was which I quite liked. It also has a slight shimmer in it (which you can't see above) which I'm sure some people may not like.

SAND CASTLE; £1.99

With Sand Castle, it's more of a coral colour than Sorbet which I like as it looks more natural looking. Once again, you can build up the colour to make it darker.

The one thing that I like best about Natural Collection - is that it's always 3 for £5 (I think!) And they always have a nice array of products with nice shades.

So this now means that I now own 6 Natural Collection lipsticks - not meaning to brag or anything!

Do you own any Natural Collection lipsticks/products?
What's your favourite?

Lipstick obsession?!

I've always been a lipgloss person instead of a lipstick person.
But when I purchased Natural Collection Sheer Natural in Lotus 24 days ago (the 3rd April) - my love for lipsticks blossomed.

Since then, I have acquired quite a few lipsticks with two in the post and one or two (I can't remember!) for my birthday.

15 lipsticks in total and still counting!

How big is your lipstick collection?

17 BB Blemish Balm: Medium

"The BB cream is billed as the answer to all your skincare woes in a single tube"
Daily Mail

I asked on twitter yesterday what is the best drug store BB cream and the ever helpful Sophia said that she stands by her No7 BB Cream for normal/oily skin in shade medium. But judging by how much all the other No7 stuff was.. I was put off!
So I asked the shop assistant, Maggie, if she wouldn't mind helping me. Funnily enough, she suggested that I try 17's BB Cream as she bought it herself back in January and has been using it ever since. She said that it gave her just enough coverage to make her look like she's wearing a small amount of makeup and it also covered up her spots and scars. So I thought what the heck, if she says it that's good, then it must be, right?

£6.99 FOR A 30ML TUBE
The experts say: "17 BB Blemish Balm is your 'no make-up make-up' - a cult wonder product that gives your skin a complete natural, flawless finish. The weightless all in one creamy formula blends seamlessly into skin; moisturising, concealing, smoothing and protecting. Covers - conceals skin imperfections with full coverage and heals oil control. Enhances - smooths and evens skin tone for a flawless finish. Protects - promotes healthy skin with SPF protection".
I have to admit, that when I first applied it this morning, I did agree that is was creamy. And it does "blend seamlessly into skin" like it says. The downside is, is that it does not conceal skin imperfections. Well, it would if you applied tons on but as I was following the directions, I was pretty gutted.
I also noticed that it smells exactly like spray on tights which is slightly off putting, especially for people who hate the smell of fake tan. I found the scent to be a little odd, considering when it's meant to be a blemish balm and not spray on tights. Perhaps they use almost the same ingredients as they do in their BB cream as they do in their own brand spray on tights
Despite all the downsides, I will continue using this product for the days when I cycle into work as it's convenient. But none the less, I will continue looking for a inexpensive-ish BB cream to use daily.
Have you tried a BB cream?
What's your thoughts on it?

Mini Superdrug Haul

I originally went into Superdrug purely to get MUA's Primer as so many bloggers have raved about how good it was and such.
However, my Superdrug's MUA collection is massively pathetic - They needed it to fill it up for starters and don't even get me started on the lack of decent items.

Rant over.
So as I was browsing, I thought I would get some dry shampoo.
But I kind of broke one of them.. Not on purpose as it was already broken but I knocked it and it fell on the floor and it just got worse - I was so embarresed!
Luckily, I was the only customer in there and the shop assistant didn't seem to care.

If you ask me, I was doing them a favour as it wouldn't have sold..

AWAY WITH THE FAIRIES & HEART ON YOUR SLEEVE

There were two others, one of them being their "Chocolate Brownie" Dry Shampoo for Brunettes - which I read in somebody's blog (unfortunately I cannot remember them!) that when she tried it out, it didn't smell remotely like brownies.

Have you tried Superdrug's Dry Shampoo?
What are your thoughts about it?

Collection 2000 Mini Haul at Poundland.

I would just like to state the obvious - Poundland do not pay me to promote them.
All the below, I bought with my own money.

Moving on swiftly.. After doing the Sally Hansen Haul, I went back into my local Poundland to see if they had any more Sally Hansen stuff left - Turns out, I bought all my products on the morning that they had stocked it so when I went back a few days later, there were none left! Talk about it being popular!

In what was SH's place, I saw some Collection 2000 trio's which I thought I would all show you. They are nothing that special but they are definitely a buy if you're just starting to buy your makeup collection.

SHADE 16 IN APHRODITE (COLOUR INTENSE TRIO)
THIS ISN'T VERY PIGMENTED WHEN SWATCHED BUT YOU CAN EASILY BUILD UP THE COLOUR TO GET A MORE DEFINED LOOK.

SHADE 11 IN MOCHA CHOC (COLOUR INTENSE TRIO)
THESE ARE SLIGHTLY MORE PIGMENTED THAN APHRODITE. IM SURE THAT IF YOU WERE TO BUILD UP THE SECOND ONE, IT WOULD LOOK QUITE NICE.

SHADE 14 IN RAINFOREST (COLOUR INTENSE TRIO)
QUITE EASILY THE MOST PIGMENTED OUT OF ALL OF THEM. THEY ARE ALL QUITE RICH IN COLOUR AND I WOULD DEFINITELY SAY TRUE TO COLOUR AS WELL. WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS ONE IS THE LAST SWATCH HAS A SLIGHT GOLDISH SHEEN TO IT.

SHADE 2 IN ZENITH (TOTAL COLOUR TRIO)
DESPITE THIS BEING A "TOTAL COLOUR" TRIO - IT IS DEFINITELY PIGMENTED IN BOTH ITS LOOKS AND WHEN SWATCHED. I'VE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THE SECOND SWATCH OF THIS. IM SURE THIS TRIO WOULD DO WELL IF APPLIED FOR A SMOKEY EYE EFFECT.

Overall, I found that the Colour Intense Trio's were not as colour intense as they claimed to be. But none the less, £2 for 4 Trio's isn't bad at all to mess about with.

Do you have a favourite Collection 2000 product?

Mega Blogger Awards!

Whoa! 27 blog posts later and I've been tagged for some blogger awards by the lovely Sophia, a UK based blogger who blogs about her love for makeup and all things prettyful. She's tagged me in not one but five award tags! I would just like to say a big massive thankyou!

After doing some major award tag stalking, I'm assuming that once somebody has tagged you with an award, you have to disclose the information requested from that award.

I've decided that instead of tagging individual people for each award, I will be tagging only ten people to do all of them instead. You can choose more if you wish!

Sophia was kind enough to tag me in all five so without further ado, here goes.. Wish me luck!

The Versatile Blogger Award - 7 Random Facts About Me
  1. I do not know my natural hair colour - no really, I seriously don't.
  2. I have a obsession with polar bears - my room is filled with them!
  3. I am planning on winning the lottery soon, very soon ;)
  4. I literally own my own personal library.
  5. I'm training to be a plumber.
  6. I have an OCD when it comes to receipts..
  7. All of my underwear is leopard print - enough said.
The Liebster Award - Tag People With Less Than 200 Followers

For this award, you have to tag blogs who have less than 200 followers. I'm more than happy for the people that I tag down below to do this themselves as it's nice to include other peoples.

The Blogger Appreciate Award - 4 Blog Related Questions

  1. How long have you been blogging?
I've been blogging since March 2012, so not too long!
  2. What are two reasons you started blogging?
I wanted to start a blog purely because I've been reading other peoples' blogs and I felt like I wanted in on the blogging world. I also wanted to share my thoughts and opinions about various things.
  3. What kind of blogs do you like to follow/read?
I like to follow blogs that are generally about pretty things whether that be about beauty items or fashion. I like it when a blogger goes that further mile i.e. taking the time to present their blog posts nicely with their own photos and not those stole from another blog or from google. I also like to follow/read blogs who blog about whatever they want whether it's about day to day life or a latest beauty trick that they just had to share.
  4. What is the one thing you would like to improve on your blog/as a blogger?
The one thing that I would like to improve on my blog is the appearance of it - I want it to be like me and not just some nice pretty little floral print that it is (not that there is anything wrong with floral print!)

The Kreativ Blogger Award - 7 Random Thoughts About Me
This is exactly like the Versatile Award but with seven completely different things.
    1. At this current moment of time, I am on a "No Doing Anything to my Hair" strike.
    2. I live in UGG boots.
    3. I believe I have really good looking feet (sorry if it grosses people out!)
    4. I want to live in America - purely for the thrift stores!!
    5. The way to my heart is giving me a plate stacked high with ribs - talk about heaven on a plate!
    6. I only wear fluffy socks.
    7. My favourite colour is blue.

11 Questions as chosen by Sophia

The nominated people are to answer the questions after this little section - just scroll down!

    1. What is your favourite scent and taste?
My favourite scent would have to be either Festive Scent by Yankee Candle or anything with strawberries/cherries/vanilla in it! My favourite taste would have to be Kraft Mac & Cheese - I just love how cheesy it tastes, even if it is artificial.
      2. Did you make any New Year's resolutions this year, if so what were they and did you stick to them?
To be honest, I didn't make any New Year's resolutions this year as I personally don't think that there is any point in them as people will only break them a few weeks later in the new year.
     3.What is your favourite artist/book/film?
I feel compelled to answer all three. I have many favourite artists which would include Sean Paul, Chipmunk, Cher Lloyd, Labrinthe etc. My favourite book would have to be either Vince & Joy by Lisa Jewell or Pride & Premiership by Michelle Gayle. My all time favourite film is Matilda - I am literally mesmerized everytime I watch it!
    4. Do you have a favourite make up brand? If so, what is it.
My favourite makeup brand is Rimmel because I have grown up with Rimmel being in my makeup for years.
5.Who is your favourite beauty blogger?
My favourite beauty blogger would have to be the first persons' blog that I ever read who is Belles Boutique - she is the most beautiful person ever and her reviews of various beauty products are always so accurate. I also really like Dolly Bow Bow - she has a mad obsession with both clothes and makeup whilst being down to earth.
6.What are your plans for the summer?
Well for me, summer always starts with my birthday (A month tomorrow!!) :D I'm planning on getting my first two tattoo's on my birthday, going away in June with my boyfriend and try to get a decent tan in this amazing petty weather.
7.Are there any fashion items big right now, that you can't stand?
I personally don't think there are any fashion items that are big right now that I cannot stand..
    8. If you could live anywhere else in the World, where would it be?
If I could live anywhere else in the world, it would definitely have to be America. Purely because they have amazing thrift stores and so that I can be near my grandparents.
    9. What five items would you take to a desert island?
If I could only take five items to a desert island, they would have to be: Factor 50 Sun Tan Lotion (So I could get a amazing tan); My fat cat Mickey; Real Strawberry Icecream; All of my onesies/babygrows and fluffy socks.
    10. If your friends were asked to describe you in three words, what would they be?
Most of my friends are guys (due to being the only female on my plumbing course) so they would definitely describe me as being girly. People from work would describe me as outgoing and Liam would definitely describe me as weird.
    11. What do you think makes a good beauty blogger?
I think that in order for a beauty blogger to be classed as good, they would to give honest reviews about everything. They would also have to do (in my eyes) reviews about beauty products from different scales of the price range - as there are so many beauty bloggers about there who only blog about expensive items when there are only a few who blog about cheap items.

    My Questions!
These are for the people who are tagged down below to answer instead of the questions that I just answered.

    1. What is your favourite chocolate bar and why?
    2. If you won £5,000,000 on the lottery, what would you do with it all?
    3. If you could, would you be the opposite sex for the day and what would you get up to?
    4. If you could change absolutely anything about yourself, what would you change and why?
    5. Who are your role model/s?
    6. Jersey Shore or Geordie Shore?
    7. What is your favourite kind of music i.e. classical/pop/punk?
    8. What is the story behind your blogname?
    9. Do you have a favourite all time beauty product? If so, what is it?
    10. Is there anything that you have regretted doing? What is it?
    11. Are you more of a cat person or more of a dog person?

Phew! I hope this wasn't too much of a long read for you. Thanksyou once again Sophia for tagging me! Below are the ten bloggers that I nominate and award for all the awards above.

I will comment on a post to let you know, when you have done your "Blogger Awards" post, please let me know with a comment so that I can find out a little bit more about you.

Creightons to the rescue!

I like to dye/highlight/change my hair colour a lot (I've been doing this since I was 11/12) so I've been many shades from bright red to blonde and back again several times.

Two weeks ago or so, I decided to go back to blonde as I was bored of being a faded red colour so I bleached it straight and after washing it out, I noticed that my hair was literally breaking off.

So what does any normal person do other than myself? They would either panick or just strip the colour. Well not me, I put a brown dye on, left it in for about 15 minutes and washed it out. Silly idea, I know!

So now that I've changed/coloured/dyed/killed my hair, it's rather brittle and needs some TLC.
So as well as going on a "I'm not straightening/curling/colouring my hair again" strike until my birthday (A month tomorrow to be exact) - I'm also using two products which are quite literally life savers.

Say hello to my new favourite friends!

EXCUSE THE DUCKIES IN THE BACKGROUND ;)

The left is Creightons Intensive Care Conditioner (Infuses smooth, silky feel to dry or damaged blonde hair) whilst the other is Creightons Extra Moisturizing Shampoo (Rehydrates, softens and smoothes dry or damaged blonde hair).
The experts claim: "Sunshine Blonde is the new way to help blonde hair look and feel as fresh as when you left the salon. Sunshine Blonde not only adds great shine and condition, but it helps conteract the problems that make blonde hair so vulnerable to colour change"

And I have to admit, I have definitely noticed the difference! It definitely makes my hair feel softer after all those years of killing it and it definitely does look healthier.

And seeing as I'm refusing to colour it till after my birthday, it's making my blonde bits lighter so that it looks like I've been colouring it when actually I haven't.

You pick these products up from your local Poundland.

Do you know any products that will help really damaged hair?

Make your own lipscrub!

This post has been requested by the ever amazing Sophia whose blog is just pure amazing - enough said.

What you will need:
AN EMPTY TIN; YOUR CHOSEN LIP BALM/SMACKER/STICK; VASELINE; A TABLE SPOON;SUGAR
YOU WILL ALSO NEED A METAL SKEWER; KITCHEN PAPER TOWELS AND A KNIFE.

First things first - tear off your some kitchen paper and lay it down (to prevent any spills/sugar going everywhere/vaseline dripping) and prop everything you need onto it.

Grab your spoon and get quite a big spoonful of vaseline (depending on how big your tin is) and put it into your tin. It's better off to start not having enough than having too much.

Next, pour some sugar into your tin and mix it all up with your metal skewer - we will add more vaseline and sugar later on.
DO NOT USE COTTON EAR BUDS LIKE I DID - IT LEAVES LITTLE BITS OF FLUFF IN YOUR LIPSCRUB!!

After mixing, start chopping up your lip stick/balm/smacker (I used Cherry Coke Lip Smacker) into little pieces like as if you're chopping up cucumber.

Start adding a few slices into the mixture and start mixing.

Note, this stage will take quite a while in order for the lip whatever to break up and mix well. You can heat this up if you wish by putting the slices onto a large spoon and holding it over your hob for a few minutes until it is melted. I chose not to do this purely because I didn't want to burn it.
Continue adding the rest of the lip whatever until it is all gone and add more sugar/vaseline to get the right consistency that you want.

But don't forget to keep on mixing!!
Once you have got a sufficient amount in your tin and it is the right consistency, you will need to leave it in the fridge overnight in order for it to harden.
TADAA!

And there we have it - how to make your own lipscrub.
If you're unsure of any stage of this, please feel free to comment and I will answer any questions that you may have.

HAPPY LIP SCRUBBING!
