November Empties

I've used up my very last bottle of the popular Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish which means that I'm all out of it now. I used this as my morning cleanser and I liked how it left my skin after each use. It's a very calming scent which is perfect for either morning or night time use. This is one of those products that I can definitely see myself repurchasing. I've finally used up the last few dregs of the Caudalie Beauty Elixir which I still haven't quite made up my mind on if I liked it or not. I found it to be a little overpowering to spray over my face as the scent of it is too strong and I noticed that I wasted quite a fair bit doing this way so I kept to spraying it on a cotton pad and sweeping it on my face. I wouldn't say this helped my skin but nor did it irritate it. I've finished a tube of the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control Daily Scrub which helped with my break outs along with other products. It's more of a creamy exfoliator than a gritty one so it left my skin feeling soft and a lot brighter. Despite the scent to be a little offputting, I think I may repurchase this at some point. I've used up a bottle of the Lacura Aqua-Complete Multi Intensive Serum which I like to think as the cheaper version of Hydraluon to some extent. At first, this broke me out but after using it both day and night for the last few months religiously, my skin has gotten used to it. It's made my skin look a lot plumper and more hydrated and I think I will continue using and repurchasing this until I try out Hydraluron. It was a very sad evening which I used up the very last dregs of my beloved Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate as I've been using this every single night since I bought back at the #NottsBBMeet in April. This helped to calm my breakouts, give my skin a much needed boost of hydration as well as making it look more radiant. I will definitely repurchase this at some point in the near future!

I've used up a bottle of the Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner which I've been using primarily as a detangling spray for when I've washed my hair. This has helped to not only detangle my hair but also to condition it and give it some much needed moisture. This is honestly one of my holy grail products that I simply couldn't live without. It's taken a while but I've finally finished a bottle of the Boots Build Up Removal Shampoo which I use once a week mainly on a Sunday. This helps to rid my hair of any product build up and general impurities and help restore it back to its normal state. I will admit that it is rather drying but this can be fixed with a deep condtioning treatment afterwards which I always do. I will continue to repurchase this. I've finished up a tube of the Superdrug Sensitive Whitening Toothpaste which despite costing next to nothing, it gave brilliant results! This made my sensitivity go away almost whilst using this and it helped to whiten my teeth slightly. I will definitely be going back to this toothpaste ASAP.  I've finished up a pot of Lush's Whoosh Shower Gelly which at first I did enjoy using it but after a while, I just got bored of it. It smells very citrus and it lathered up well but I doubt I would go out of my way and repurchase it again as it is just a novelty shower gel. I've used up my Arora Body Butter in Pink Grapefruit which I've been using since July. Despite this not smelling very much of pink grapefruit, this kept my body moisturised and it sunk into the skin well. This is definitely one of my holy grail products that I couldn't live without.

I've finished a packet of the Lacura 3-in-1 Facial Cleansing Wipes which appear in every empties post. I don't use these to take off my makeup but I do use for wiping foundation/general makeup off my hands as well as cleansing surfaces etc. I will forever continuepurchasing these as they are by far one of the moist wipes I've come across. I've finished two packets of the Skin Therapy Large Oval Cotton Wool Pads which are the only cotton wool pads I use now for my face. They're larger than the average sized one which means that you don't have to go through quite as many when it comes to taking off makeup except I keep one packet at home and one packet at Liams'. Just like with the wipes, I will forever continue repurchasing these. I've used up two bottles of my favourite Wilko Hand Sanitisers. I have these dotted about everywhere and I am forever using these. Despite it being such a simple product, I absolutely adore them and will continue to buy these. I've finished the Apivita Lip Care with Propolis which I rather enjoyed using. It's a really thick, natural lip balm that made it perfect for use at night time as you could still feel it on your lips come morning. I've kept this at Liams' since I received it at the #NottsBBMeet so it's definitely lasted a long time. I doubt I would repurchase it in this particular scent as I've got my eyes on the Rose one at the moment.

Boots Haul 008

As I now work for Boots, I find being on my break by myself to be very dangerous as I end up spending money on products that I don't necessarily need. This time however, I bought three products that I've been lusting after for quite a while which I've realised that I do actually now need that it's getting colder.

The first product I picked up is the Sanctuary 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask which is a self heating charcoal treatment that helps to open up the pores and remove any impurities from the skin. This helps to reblance the skins oil levels to clarify and cleanse the skin whilst leaving it with a silky touch. I'm hoping that this will help with my breakouts and help keep them at bay.

I also picked up the Super Facialist Tea Flower Deep Clean Pore Purifying Clay Mask which is a detoxifying mask to help unclog pores and restore skin balance. It contains salicylic acid which is known to help unclog congested skin as well as help with any blemishes. I like using clay based masks as they make my skin feel clearer and more refreshed after each use and I'm hoping that this combined with the Sanctuary mask will make my skin so much clearer than before.

The last product I bought is the Super Facialist Rose Hydrate Intense Moisture Mask. This contains extract of Wild Willow which is known to enhance skin cell turnover as well as Vitamin E, Urea and extract of soothing Marshmallow which help to hydrate, plump and replinish the skin which leaving it with a glowing radiance. I'm hoping this will help keep my skin looking hydrated as I've noticed that my skin has been suffering recently due to the fact that it's getting a lot colder now.

Yankee Candle Wax Tart in Fireside Treats

For those of you who do not know me, I'm a huge Yankee Candle fan. With that being said, I much prefer their wax tarts than their actual jar candles purely because I like swapping and changing my scents whenever I feel like. It also is a lot cheaper and easier than forking out almost £20 for a candle that you'll be stuck with until it's burned down completely whereas with a wax tart, you can simply pop it out and change it for a new scent for less than £2 a tart.

I've been burning Fireside Treats for the past few days and it instantly transports me back to America, making smores with my Grandpa. The best way I can describe this scent is imaging a fire burning whilst roasting marshmallows which is what Yankee Candle wanted you to picture. It's warm yet smoky whilst sweetened with roasted marshmallows which makes this scent perfect for now.

Yankee Candle Wax Tarts fragrances last for up to eight hours although Fireside Treats has been lasting for much longer than that. I personally buy mine from this eBay seller as ten wax tarts for just under £11 is a bargain when you compare the prices in Clinton Cards! They also make great little additions to presents as who doesn't love something by Yankee Candle?
Please note that I do not burn my wax tarts on my bed, it was purely for picture purposes.

Tresemme Platinum Strength Deep Conditioning Treatment

During the Summer time, Tresemme released their Platinum Strength range which has been raved about by fellow bloggers left, right and centre. The range itself has been designed to repair and reinforce hair as well as visibly repair up to two years worth of damage within just five uses which is quite a bold claim to make. I've been using their Deep Conditioning Treatment from the range one to two times a week now for the past two months and I think it's about time I shared my two cents on it.

The Tresemme Platinum Strength Deep Conditioning Treatment is a mask that you apply to shampooed/conditioned wet hair from the mid-lengths to the ends ideally with a wide toothed comb or your fingers to help equally distribute the product. Once worked through the hair, you're meant to leave it on for between three to four minutes before washing it out. I actually tend to leave this on my hair for a lot longer than what is recommended as whilst my hair isn't quite as dry as what it is during the summer months, the cold winter days can have the same effects as well so I like to think that I'm helping to combat this. After rinsing this out, my hair instantly feels softer whilst wet which is the still the case after I've towel dried it. I've noticed that my hair appears to dry slightly quicker than before when I use this and I'm not loosing quite as much hair as before. My hair feels a lot healthier than what it did before I started using this and overall, it just feels a lot softer. I wouldn't really say that this has helped to visibly repair up to two years worth of damage but I would definitely say that it has improved the condition of my hair and made it a lot more healthier.

Whilst this was a nice deep conditioning treatment, I don't think I would rush out to buy it when I run out as I'm sure there are some equally nice if not better ones out there especially ones that smell a lot nicer than the typical Tresemme scent. You can purchase the Tresemme Platinum Strength Deep Conditioning Treatment from Boots and Superdrug for under £6.

Boots Haul 007

I've been running low on my beloved Boots Build Up Removal Shampoo which I use every Sunday so I thought I better stock up and pick up two. This is a deep cleansing shampoo which removes any build up left from products which leaves the hair feeling throughly cleansed. As Boots were running a 3 for 2, I picked up the Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo which I was recommended by my hairdresser to help grow my hair. I know that this is a mens shampoo but it works just as well on womens hair too. It helps to stimulate the hair roots during washing and it also helps to reduce hair loss which I seem to be suffering with.

I've been meaning to try the Boots Traditional Cold Cream for quite a while now so I'm glad that I've finally picked it up. It's an old school cleanser which helps give the skin a deep cleanse which leaving it feeling very soft. I'm hoping this will live up to my expectations of both the Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser and Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. As Boots were running a 2 for £4 across their Vitamin E range which I sadly missed out on last time, I decided to take advantage of it and pick up two of my beloved Boots Vitamin E Gentle Eye Cream. This is a light weight eye cream which absorbs into the skin very quickly with an added bonus of SPF15. I've been using for well over a year now and I love it.

Another deal that Boots had on was buy one, get the second half price so I decided to pick up two nail varnishes that I've been lusting after for quite some time now. The first is the Bourjous So Laque Glossy Nail Varnish in BCBeige which is a cross between Models Own Utopia and Barry M Gelly Lychee. The other is the Revlon Colorstay Nail Varnish in Bare Bones which was raved about a lot earlier on this year. It's a rather light nude which I'm hoping will look good.

Boots Haul 006

I would just like to firstly apologize for the picture quality as I took this late last night and I no longer see day light apart from at the weekends due to working full time which explains why the picture looks darker/not the right colours. Secondly, I would like to apologize for the amount of Boots Hauls which are coming on the blog in the next two weeks - it's a very dangerous place to both work and shop in!

I've recently been wanting to add to my Essie collection as it's been looking a little lonely as I only have five. So when I noticed that all the Summer/Autumn shades were going in clearance, I made a beeline and grabbed quite a fair few. The shades I picked up were Hip-Anema which is a poppy-bright red orange; Avenue Maintain which is a parisian blue; Full Steam Ahead which is a pearlescent punch lilac; Rock The Boat which is a shimmering french blue; Naughty Nautical which is a shimmery marine blue-green; Sunday Funday which is a shimmery tangerine coral crush and After School Boy Blazer which looks either navy or black depending on the lighting.

I also couldn't resist picking up my first Mavala shades as these have been raved about quite a fair bit this past year. The shades I picked up are from the summer Chilli & Spice Collection which I've managed to pick all but one up. The shades I picked up were Trinidad which is a navy blue; Jaipur which is a standard orange shade; Bali which is a pink based coral colour; Bamako which is a dark mint-ish green and Samsarakand which is a bright dark purple.

I paid £15 in total for all twelve nail varnishes which should have cost me £78.43 if I were to have paid full price for them. If you ask me, that is quite the bargain I managed to score!

Have you checked your local Boots' Clearance section to see if you can find any gems?

Samples I've Used Up 005

The Dr. Organic Manuka Honey Hand & Nail Cream was a sample that I was most looking forward to trying as I rather enjoy trying out different hand and nail creams. With that being said, I was left rather disappointed as I wasn't expecting it to be quite as thick and greasy as it was. This didn't sink into my hands quickly like most hand creams do and I found the scent to be rather offputting as it didn't smell strongly of manuka honey. However, I did find that this sample worked better as a foot cream as it left my feet feeling very soft especially after applying it and putting a pair of socks on for a few hours to leave it to do its magic. I doubt I would ever purchase this in full size.

Another sample that I was looking forward to trying is the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in 100 Ivory. I don't particularly suffer with oily skin however I've noticed that if I'm doing a lot of manual work then I can sweat my makeup off which doesn't look appealing whatsoever. I found this shade to be far too orange especially for a supposedly ivory shade but I didn't let that put me off. I noticed that you had to work quickly with this foundation as it tend to set and then not budge at all which meant taking my time buffing it all in was rather difficult. I found that this was far too cakey for my liking despite it claiming that it doesn't give a cakey appearance and I noticed that it oxidised quite a fair bit meaning that the already orange shade was a lot more orange than before. I wouldn't ever purchase this in full size as I have found much better foundations than this.

I used up a sample of the Snowberry Cellular Regeneration Night Cream which I received in my #NottsBBMeet Goodie bag. This is an anti-aging night cream for those with more mature skin than myself which although I don't suffer with wrinkles just yet touch wood, I do however want to prevent them any way possible. I never normally base a sample/product primarily on its scent however this really did smell quite bad - it's an almost chemically, pungent cheap-ish scent. This was also far too rich for my skin and I could still feel remnants on my skin come morning. I didn't notice anything different in my skin at all apart from the fact that it felt greasy and for that reason, I will never purchase this in full size.

A sample that has frequented in many of these posts is The Face Shop The Smim Radiating Moisturising Cream. This is a very light weight moisturiser that leaves the skin feeling moisturised and looking radiant. I noticed that after applying this, my skin looked a lot brighter than before and it felt really moisturised. I still may consider buying this in full size once I've finished up all my samples of this however I have quite a fair few moisturisers that I need to use up first.

The last sample I've used up is the Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Bright Fit. This is supposedly a BB cream that has whitening and anti-wrinkle properties whilst giving the skin the appearance of a silky complexion all from a pearl infused sheer coverage. I received the sample No2 which is Light Beige which is rather orange based which is unheard of for an Asian BB Cream. I found this this was very full coverage which is another thing that for Asian BB Creams is unheard of. I personally didn't like this sample at all as it oxidised very quickly and lasted on my skin for a matter of hours. I wouldn't purchase this in full size.

Yankee Candle Haul 001

I've always been a huge fan of Yankee Candles as there is such a variety of different scents to suit your mood. I much prefer the wax tarts as you can swap and change them whenever you feel like. I normally buy them for friends as a little extra when it comes to presents and they always go down a treat. This is actually the first time I've bought ten for myself as I normally keep one to myself if I'm buying for friends in mind.

When buying these a little while ago, I noticed that they had just released their new Christmas Scents which included Merry Marshmallow and Snowflake cookie which I can't wait to burn next month! I picked up Candy Corn as it was one of the new scents for Halloween which I've already burnt through and I loved the scent. I also picked up a few of their Summer Scents which included Salted Caramel and Fireside Treats. I'm not entirely sure why they were released for Summer as they're more Autumn/Fall scents if you ask me.

I also bought a few of their permanent scents which you can buy all year round which includes November Rain, Red Velvet, Strawberry Buttercream, Silician Lemon and the blogger favourite, Vanilla Cupcake. I'm currently burning November Rain at the moment as the name suggests, it's perfect for November with it's rather leafy, airy scent. I'm looking forward to burning Strawberry Buttercream as it smells so good!

I tend to buy all my wax tarts from eBay as it works out so much cheaper than buying them from a shop. In particular, I use this seller as they tend to have the widest variety of scents. I always buy the 10 Pick + Mix as they have over 70+ scents to choose from which only costs a little over £10 with free P+P after you've chosen your ten.

What are your favourite Yankee Candle Scents?

Superdrug Haul 004

I recently ran out of my beloved Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser so I thought it would be rude not to pick up two, especially when they were half price which Superdrug never seems to do on this particular product. It's my favourite morning cleanser as it just helps to perk up my skin and leave it feeling very moisturised especially in these colder months due to it containing Vitamin E. I've been using this for well over a year now and I can't see myself stopping any time soon.

I also recently ran out of hand cream completely so I had to pick up my favourite hand cream in the form of Superdrug Hand Therapy 2 in 1 Hand & Nail Cream. This contains Keratin and Pro-Vitamin B5 which helps to moisturise and soften the skin as well help to strengthen the nails. I also picked up another Arora Body Butter in Pink Grapefruit as it was better than half price, which is one of my favourite body butters to date. I wouldn't particularly say that it smells like Grapefruit as I'm used to The Body Shops' Pink Grapefruit scent which smells exactly how grapefruit should smell. However, I'm not too fussed about the scent as all I care about is how moisturising it is.

Tresemme Platinum Strength Shampoo & Conditioner

The Tresemme Platinum Strength range was a release that I eagerly anticipated back in early 2013 in particular, the shampoo and conditioner duo. This duo helps to repair up to two years worth of damage in just five uses which is a very bold claim to make. It uses the Tresemme Platinum Strength System/Renewing Complex which helps to make the hair more manageable, stronger and more healthier than before. I've been using this duo for the last few weeks and I think it's time I shared my two cents on it.

I've always been a big fan of Tresemme products and used them constantly when I was younger as they were cheap and cheerful yet did the job well. Despite my love for the brand, I feel like my hair and this duo did not get on. It claims to make the hair more manageable and stronger which this certainly did not. If anything, my hair felt more weakened than before I started using this duo. I noticed that after I used this pair, my hair felt too silcone-y clean yet at the same time weighed down in some cases which meant styling my hair was out of the window. As for repairing up to two years worth of damage in just five uses, impossible. Tresemme, you've let me down.

Boots Haul 005

A week ago today, it was my local Boots stores' first Advantage Card Evening where if you spent £50 or more, you would get £12 worth of points which is a pretty sweet deal that I simply couldn't resist. I picked up the infamous Soap & Glory Clean On Me Shower Gel which I've been lusting after for a while now since I finished up a travel sized version of this. I'm planning on using this as a shaving lotion rather than a shower gel as I find that this makes my legs feel so soft! I picked up two of my beloved Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash & Mask which I think I may start using primarily as my morning face wash. It's a dual product that you can use to either wash your face with or use as a face mask. I love using it for both as I think it does a pretty good job at such a cheap price. I also picked up the Boots Botanics All Bright Purifying Face Scrub to replace my Amie New Leaf Skin Exfoliating Polish. This looks like to have a similar consistency to the Amie scrub so I'm hoping that this works just as well. It contains walnut shell to buff away any dead skin whilst crushed up apricot seeds helps to gently get rid of any impurities. This was actually half price meaning that I only paid £1.54 for it!

I picked up four Palmers Cocoa Butter Original Lip Balms but I've only got one to picture as my Dads' partner wanted me to get her three. This is supposedly meant to be a really moisturising lip balm as it protects the lips whilst soothing them with Vitamin E. I also picked up another lip balm in the form of my beloved Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm which I seem to have dotted around in various bags/places. This keeps my lips moisturised for hours with added shea butter which helps to prevent my lips from drying out. I couldn't help but check out the Sinful Colors stand in the hope that they may finally have the shade Unicorn in stock as it's been out of stock at my local store since July time and I spotted that they had one in stock which I made a beeline for! It's a pale yellow shade which apparently applies very streaky but it can be helped with a white base beneath. I also picked up the shade Easy Going as it's such a beautiful pale ballerina nude colour which I've been lusting after for quite a few months now. Seeing as it's 3 for 2 across all cosmetics, I also picked up 24/7 which is a bright neon pink which I can't wait to wear during Summer.

One of the main reasons for this haul is the fact that I've finally got my mitts on the Boots Beauty Advent Calendar. This contains brands such as Nails Inc, Mavala, Vichy, Soap & Glory etc. Many people have said that they deem this to not be worth the money as they're mainly all samples with a few full sized products which I personally think is worth the money especially when you're paying £30 and it's worth £65.

If you're wondering when the next Advantage Card evening is, it should be around about the 28th November depending on your local store so make sure you take full advantage! I'm actually planning on doing all my Christmas shopping at my stores next Ad Card Evening purely to take advantage of all the savings and deals that they'll have on.

Superdrug Sensitive Whitening Toothpaste

Whilst growing up, I never had perfect teeth. I had an overcrowded mouth which resulted in five teeth being pulled out and braces for just under three years just to get straight teeth that my dentist was happy with. Add that to drinking fizzy drinks and being a sugaraholic and you could say that I should have bad teeth when actually, I don't. I don't have any fillings nor any problematic teeth which is surprising as I sure have put my teeth through hell over the last few years. The only problem I have which has gotten worse with time is that I have sensitive teeth. Drinking a cold drink with ice cubes resulted in taking baby sips and eating an ice lolly was a killer with every bite. It wasn't until a month ago or so that I finally decided to take action and get myself some sensitive toothpaste pronto.

The Superdrug Sensitive Whitening Toothpaste is a toothpaste thas has been specially formulated for those with sensitive teeth. It helps to gently remove stains and restore the natural whiteness in your teeth whilst protecting the teeth and gums against the build up of plaque and tartar. It contains flouride which helps to strengthen the tooth enamel whilst helping to fight tooth decay all with a fresh minty flavour which leaves your mouthing feeling clean and refreshed.

Whilst I have only been using this toothpaste for a short period of time, I've noticed that I've seen results almost instantly. The biggest result I've seen apart from the fact that my teeth look whiter than before is that I no longer feel as much pain whilst drinking a cold drink with ice cubes. Whilst I've been using this, I mainly only feel a little bit of pain which is gone within seconds and sometimes, I feel no pain at all. I can happily drink a cold drink now and know that it wont take me forever to finish it. I can also eat ice cream without my teeth hurting quite so much. I honestly don't know why I didn't make the switch sooner as this has, in some ways, changed my life to some extent.

You can find the Superdrug Sensitive Whitening Toothpaste down the toothpaste aisle in Superdrug for only 60p!

NOTD 008

Products used:
Sally Hansen Insta-Grip Fast Dry Base Coat
Models Own Snow White // one coat
Barry M Gelly Blue Grape // one coat
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat
Sally Hansen Mega Shine Extended Wear Top Coat

Out of the entire line up that Barry M released for their Summer collection for the Gelly Hi-Shine range, Blue Grape is by far my favourite colour out of them all. It's a bright, cobalt blue which looks very similar to the infamous Nails Inc Baker Street which apparently is a favourite of Beyonces'.

Whilst Blue Grape is such a bright colour, I found that it would have taken at least two coats to become opaque hence why I've put a white base on before hand to help enhance it and make it just a little brighter. I've been wearing this for a little over three days and I've received so many compliments on my nails! Even Liam has noticed what a beautiful colour it is and he rarily notices when I've painted my nails unless I point it out to him. I think this colour would be perfect when paired with a tan so I think I might bring it along with me to America next year.

October Favourites

Throughout October, I've been suffering with really dry hands which is down to my new job as I need to open up cardboard boxes so I've been slathering my hands every night with my beloved Superdrug Hand Therapy 2 in 1 Hand & Nail Cream which does the trick. It's enriched with keratin and pro-vitamin B5 which helps to soften hands and strengthen nails which is exactly what I need as I've noticed that my nails haven't been looking as good as they normally are. I've also been suffering with dry lips too so the Nivea Essential Care Lipbalm has quite literally been a life saver. It contains jojoba oil and natural shea butter that helps to prevent moisture loss and keep your lips feeling soft, smooth and moisturised.

I've had a very slight shakeup in my skincare routine and I've now started using the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish as my morning cleanse which has resulted in me loving it even more. It's a simple cream cleanser that is filled with many natural ingredients including cocoa butter and chamomile that just leaves the skin soft as a peach once massaged in and then washed off with a muslin cloth. I've found myself slathering on the Liz Earle Brightening Treatment Mask mores times than I can remember this past month as my skin has been looking very dull from the late nights and early starts at work which has also resulted in a few breakouts. I find that this mask helps to perk up my skin and make it look more radiant as well as reducing the size and redness of any blemishes that I may have. I think I will definitely have to repurchase this when I run out out.

The last product I've been loving throughout October is another face mask in the form of Balance Me Radiance Face Mask. This is a exfoliating face mask which does a variety of things for the skin including brightening, cleansing, softening and calming the skin. The scent is something that has taken me a long time to get my head around as at first I didn't like it but for the results, it's worth it. This leaves my skin looking more radiant than before as well as leaving my skin feeling soft to the touch. I like using this roughly three times a week and I can definitely see myself repurchasing this when I run out.

What products have you been loving throughout October?
