NOTD 006

Products used:
Sally Hansen Insta-Grip Fast Dry Base Coat
Models Own Snow White // one-two coats
Topshop Keepin' It Sweet // two coats
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat
Sally Hansen Mega Shine Extended Wear Top Coat

I know that Summer is now practilly over and Autumn is finally here but I've had Topshop Keepin' It Sweet staring at me for absolutely ages that I thought it was about time I tried it. Sophie from Candy Cane Heart actually bought this for me as a birthday present so it's been sitting around unused for a little over three months now.

Keepin' It Sweet is one of those pink shades that just reminds me purely of strawberry milkshake. It's almost a neon pink shade that has faded which makes it look ever so bright on the nails which is down to putting a white nail varnish on before hand. What I like the most about Keepin' It Sweet is that it enhances whatever tan I have left from my holiday to the Isle Of Wight a couple of weeks ago whilst being rather eye catching at the same time.

I really like the formula of this topshop nail varnish so I'm intrigued to try out more to see if they are exactly the same quality and consistency. I found that with the majority of my nails, I have to use two coats just to make it bright enough and to hide any white nail varnish that was peeping through.

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic

Many people believe that toners are a rather unnecessary step in a beauty regime and would rather skip this and slap on some moisturiser right after cleansing. I however have always been an avid toner user and feel that it is a very necessary step in my beauty regime as I feel that it helps to calm everything down after cleansing. I've been using the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic* for almost five months now and as I'm just about to run out of it, I thought that it would be about time that I shared my two cents on it.

The Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic is one of those products can be used on all skin types due to its rather natural, floral scented ingredients. It contains organic aloe vera to help revitalise and soften the skin and calendula, chamomile, cucumber and naturally sourced Vitamin E to sooth and refresh the skin. It also contains pure essential oils including lavender, rose scented geranium and sweet orange which help to restore and revive your spirits.

I tend to use this at night after I've used the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish as I feel that it does more for my skin than if I were to use it in the morning. I personally find this to be very soothing and relaxing whilst being gentle on the skin. I don't feel like it strips my skin nor leave it feeling tight as it just seems to balance my skin out. Whilst this is very floral scented, it may not be suitable for those who have really sensitive skin despite it saying that it's suitable for all skin types.

The only negative thing I have to say about this is primarily the packaging. I feel like sometimes I pour far too much on and literally drench the cotton pad so I think the next time I repurchase this which should be in the near future, I shall opt for the spritz version instead as I know that it would last that little bit longer. You can purchase the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic from a wide variety of stockists including the Liz Earle website and QVC in 30ml, 50ml and 200ml sizes where the price ranges from £5.50 - £13.50

Boots Haul 003

Not too long ago, Boots were holding a deal where if you spent £15 or more in store, you would get 10 points per £1 which I simply couldn't resist! This also wasn't helped by the fact that there was an offer across Tresemme where you could get any two products for £6. I couldn't help myself but buy into both offers and come away with my purse slightly lighter than before.

I've been wanting try out the Platinum Strength range ever since it was released so I picked up both the shampoo and conditioner which claim to visibly repairs up to two years worth of damage in just five uses which is a very bold claim. Seeing as both the shampoo and conditioner have been widely raved about, I thought it would be rude not to pick up the matching Deep Conditioning Treatment which also claims to do just the very same. I'm hoping that these products will help with my hair by making it stronger and thus preventing my hair from breaking off.

Whilst I don't have very many split ends anymore as I'm making myself go to the hair dressers every eight/nine weeks to get my hair cut regardless, I do however want to prevent them forming especially when I've used heat on my hair. I picked up both the shampoo and conditioner from the Split Remedy range which claims to reduce up to 80% of split ends after three uses. I'm not entirely sure how it manages to do that but I'm pretty sure it would just bond the split ends together to give off the appearance that you don't have any split ends. I also bought the matching Split Remedy Split Mend Intense Recovery Masque which is the quite a mouthful! This provides intense hydration to parched hair whilst bonding the split ends together which will help to restore the hairs overall health and condition after time.

August Favourites

I know I've said this many times before but I'm now sticking to a strict hair care routine which I'm slowly starting to see results from. One of these products is the Dove Nourishing Oil Care Leave-In Conditioning & Care Spray which I use every time after I've washed my hair. It's a lightweight smoothing and defrizzing spray which you have to shake well to blend the Nutri-Oils together. It leaves my hair feeling incredibly soft and it gives it such a nice scent which I've received compliments on.

As I've been using public transport daily, I've been relying on my Wilko Hand Sanitiser in Fruity Berry to get rid of any germs and bacteria. It smells exactly like berries and I've noticed that my hands feel a lot softer and more moisturised whilst using this which is strange as it doesn't contain any moisturising properties. I've been using my Simple Essential SPF15 Lip Balm every single day to keep my lips moisturised and I simply cannot live without it! It leaves my lips feeling moisturised for hours and it makes the perfect base for applying applying lipstick.
