Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream

When it comes to bath and body products, I much prefer using products from the same scent/brand to get a better feel of said scent especially when that particular scent is one that I've had mixed thoughts about for quite a while. Sugar Crush by Soap & Glory is simply one of those scents that when first launched, I instantly took a dislike to however fast forward a few months and I can see why everybody loves it so much!

The Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream (£10.50) is a mouthwatering, irrestible blend of shea and cocoa butter mixed with kiwi juice water, lime and almond oils which makes this one of Soap & Glory's thickest body butters yet! It's not quite on par with The Body Shop when it comes to consistency but it certainly comes close!

I like to be quite generous when it comes to moisturising my body so I tend to scoop out a decent sized amount before massaging it into my body, concentrating it mainly on the driest parts. No matter how little or how much I apply, this will not sink in instantly so I tend to do the hurry-up-and-dry-body-dance if I'm in a rush or if it's just before bed, I prefer to stick my PJs on almost straight after applying. Unlike some body butters where the scent fades away after only a few minutes, this particular one lingers on the skin for literally hours and I can even still smell it the morning after applying it the night before! What I like the most about this body butter is just how moisturising it truly is - it leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth whilst leaving it feeling really hydrated. Once I use up the bulk of my body butters, I will definitely be repurchasing this in a heart beat!

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash

Out of Soap & Glory's entire shower gel line up, I've only used Clean On Me which long time followers will know that I use as a shaving lotion. In a bid to use up my bathing products as well as to try more from the brand, I've started using their Sugar Crush Body Wash which I've had for the longest time.

The Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash (£6.50) contains a weird concoction of lime oil, coolcapsule X, kiwi juice water and omega-rich veggie oil which makes this one heck of an energising, revitalising, lather rich body wash.

Unlike most shower gels that I've tried in the past, this one is rather thin in consistency so I like to go a little pump crazy until I get my desired result which varies anywhere between three to five pumps depending on how lather-happy I'm wanting to go. I prefer applying this on a loofah rather than onto my hands as it lathers up better and it doubles up as an exfoliator as well. This definitely doesn't disappoint as it lathers up nicely whilst smelling incredibly delicious! I will most likely be repurchasing this soon as it's by far one of the better shower gels I've tried.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub

When Soap & Glory brought out their Sugar Crush range, everybody was raving about how it smelt like lime cola bottles however I couldn't understand how something that smelt so vile to me could smell that good to everyone else. Fast forward a few months and I've quite literally eaten my own words as I can see what all the hype is about!

The Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub (£8) contains smashed brown sugar and macadamia grains with a fruity lime fragrance which is a mixture of sweet lime oil, almond oil and glycerin which makes this scrub highly effective, even for those old lizard legs that everybody seems to have these days.

I personally like to take out a generous sized scoop and buff it onto wet skin, concentrating mainly on the tops of my arms before washing it off completely. Whilst it's not a miracle worker and removes all lumps and bumps from the first use, over time it truly works as I don't suffer with my chicken skin quite as bad as I once did. Despite how effective it is, I find that it is very messy so I like to make sure that I've washed it off completely before getting out and applying a liberal amount of body butter as I find that my skin can feel a little dry after using it.

Sanctuary Body Butter

One thing that I love more than having a bath is actually pampering myself after a bath which often consists of a mixture of various oils and lotions to keep my skin and hair hydrated. As I like to use similar bath products, I've found myself reaching for the Sanctuary Body Butter which has been helping keeping my mitts hydrated for the past few weeks..

The Sanctuary Body Butter (£10) is a luxuriously rich body butter and intensive skin booster which is crammed with nourishing cocoa butter and creamy shea butter to help keep skin hydrated and nourished for longer.

I like to scoop out a generous sized amount for each body part before massaging it in, ensuring that I concentrate mainly on the drier areas of that particular body area. I find that no matter how little or how much I massage it in, it never truly seems to sink in instantly so I end up having to do the hurry-up-and-dry-body dance which I'm sure we've all done plenty of times. Once it's finally absorbed, my skin feels soft and hydrated to the touch with Sanctuarys' signature scent lingering on my skin for hours after applying. What I like the most about this body butter is not how soft it makes my skin feels or the scent but how a little goes a long way so I can easily see one tub lasting a good while or so.

Sanctuary Body Scrub

It feels as though I've tried every single Soap & Glory Body Scrub and although I do like quite a few of them, I'm wanting to get through my stash of beauty products before I repurchase any more. One said product is the Sanctuary Body Scrub of which I do have a few of them which is from buying Sanctuary gift sets at Christmas.

The Sanctuary Body Scrub (£5.50) contains natural pumice grains, soothing orange oil and rejuvenating patchouli which makes it one revitalising, gentle body scrub that you can use every single day as both a cleansing shower gel as well as a body scrub.

Unlike a really gritty body scrub in a tub, the Sanctuary offering comes packaged in a tube and is very gentle so I've found myself going through this at a fast rate as sadly a little doesn't go a long way. As I much prefer a more grittier body scrub, I've been applying twice as much and really scrubbing it in to get the same effect which although it does help with the chicken skin on my arms, it doesn't half hurt my arms! With that being said, I have found this to be the perfect scrub for when I'm fake tanning as it gently exfoliates the skin whilst not removing all the fake tan so whilst it may not be ideal for when I'm pale, it's brilliant for when I'm fake tanned.

The Ultimate No7 Body Duo

Lots of people and their nans are addicted to Soap & Glory body care - myself included. However there are times when I want to use something different from their sickly sweet line up and instead use something from a different brand altogether. For those times, I like to use something from No7 and in particular, their Intensive Radiance Body Scrub and Intensive Body Butter.

The No7 Intensive Radiance Body Scrub (£10.50) is unlike any other body scub I've tried as it is rather gritty yet still moisturising on the skin. It's enriched with sweet almond body oil, argan oil and rosehip seeds which helps scrub off dead skin cells and leave the skin radiantly glowing and silky soft all day long. Unlike Soap & Glorys more traditional sweet scents, this actually smells fresh but in a comforting way.  

Just like with the body scrub, the No7 Intensive Body Butter (£13.50) smells exactly the same - comfortingly fresh and comes packaged in see through container which looks and feels more luxurious than other brand. It's enriched with shea butter, sweet almond oil and argan oil which will moisturise the skin and leave it feeling silky soft all day which is even suitable for the most sensitive of skins. Unlike other body butters that I've used in the past, this instantly moisturises my skin and leaves it soft to the touch within seconds of applying which is surprising as I'm known to apply a lot of body butter.

Overall these are quite literally the best products I've tried and when combined together, you have the ultimate body duo which I'm sure will rival its more expensive counterparts. No7 are forever handing out their infamous vouchers which will make it even cheaper if you do wish to try the two out for yourself.

Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Body Lotion

As much as I love having a bath, I hate moisturising my body afterwards as all I really want to do is just get straight into my PJs and get cosy! I've been trying to make a conscious effort to moisturise my body after every bath - no matter how annoyed/tired/cant be bothered I am, I will make sure that I will. For the past year or so, I've been reaching for the Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion which I actually got in the 2013 Soap & Glory The Yule Monty Gift Set.

The Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion (£10) is an ulta nourishing, fruity-liquid moisture milkshake with super-smoothing powers over rough elbows, bumpy upper arms and flaky lower legs which is scented with their fruity fruitigo fragrance.

I will happily hold my hand up high and admit that I am not keen on the scent - I just don't understand how people can love the fruitgo scent as to me, it just smells of artificial mango. With that in mind, I've actually been using this as a foot lotion instead of a body lotion and I find that it does the job just as well! It's a extremely light weight lotion that sinks into the skin almost immediately after applying and it leaves the skin incredibly soft and nourished! As much as I love how soft it makes my feet feel, I've noticed that after a certain point the nozzle will stop working completely. Whether that's because it may be blocked and need rinsing or because the lotion hardens up over time and therefore cannot be dispensed, I don't know. I'm hoping that maybe they will change the packaging design in the future or I could just cut my losses and opt instead for the butter verson. Overall, this is a brilliant moisturising lotion if you can stand the scent. I've already moved onto my next bottle of this and surprise, surprise, it's being used to moisturise my feet again.

Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream

As I have far too many body products than I care to admit, I've been trying to make my way through my stash before I purchase anymore so that they don't go to waste. After finishing my previous body lotion, I decided to dig out the Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream which I purchased almost a year ago as it's in the limited edition Giles Deacon for LFW 2013 packaging which just goes to show how long I've had it for.

The Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream (£4.28) is one of those multi-use products that everybody should have in their stash as it can be used on the face, body and hands although I used it primarily on my body as I have a seperate face and hand cream.The improved formula contains jojoba oil and vitamin E which helps keep the skin moisturised for longer whilst leaving it incredibly soft.

I've been using this for the past few weeks and I must admit that this beats my beloved Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter hands down! It's a very light, creamy texture that once rubbed in, it's absorbed almost instantly so there isn't any of that awkward waiting for my body moisturiser to sink in dance that we all experience far too often that we'd care to admit. Once absorbed, the skin feels instantly softer and more hydrated than before which lasts for the rest of the day. A little goes a long way with this so I can easily see one tub lasting for just over a month depending on how often/much you use it. Overall, this is a moisturiser and one that I will definitely be repurchasing as soon as I've used up my stash. 

Soap & Glory The Scrub Of Your Life

I'm slowly starting to make my way through my moutain of beauty products that I've built up over the past few months and have decided that I don't need to buy anymore until 2016. As I've already tried a few of Soap & Glory's body exfoliators including Flake Away and The Breakfast Scrub, I've decided to dig out their The Scrub Of Your Life and give it a whirl.

The Soap & Glory The Scrub Of Your Life (£7) is by far one of Soap & Glorys' cheaper bathing products unless you count their vast amount of miniatures. It claims that you'll know it's "the one" when once rough elbows go suddenly silky, dry shins become suspiciously shimmery, the bumps are gone through the backs of your arms and you start to believe that scrub can conquer all. It comes housed in a squeezy pink tube which is both easy to use and more shower friendly as there is no mess nor any unscrewing of the lids which we all know is just a disaster waiting to happen.

Unlike the others in their body exfoliator line up, I found myself going through this at a fast rate as a little doesn't go a long way which is definitely the case with the others that I've tried from them. I noticed that this is no where near as exfoliating as I would like it to be and although it did help with the bumps on the backs of my arms, it didn't help reduce the amount of them nor did it help get rid of them entirely. Overall, I was disappointed whilst using this as I believe it should be marketed more as an exfoliating shower gel rather than a body exfoliator as it is too gentle on the skin to notice a difference. With that being said however, it was still a nice product to use regardless and I would consider buying it again in the future although I would use it more as a shower gel.

No7 Completely Quenched Body Lotion

Does anybody else feel as if they go through body moisturisers far too quickly or is it just me? I hate moisturising my body with a passion yet I force myself to do so every other day after I've had a bath just so that I can say that I have moisturised my body. Despite doing this, I still feel like I've gone through a whole tube/pot in a matter of uses. A product that I feel like I used up within a week is the No7 Completely Quenched Body Lotion which smells absolutely divine if I don't say so myself!

The No7 Completely Quenched Body Lotion (£10.50 for 200ml) is one of No7s' more luxurious products as you could quite literally wrap your skin head-to-toe with this velvety soft lotion that is light on the skin and absorbs almost instantly. It hydrates thirsty skin whilst softening and soothing the skin at the same time all whilst leaving the skin healthier and more radiant than before.

It's scented like the rest of the No7 bathing line up - a scent that I can't quite descibe in words other than luxurious and sweet. As a body lotion, the texture is rather thick so it does take time to work it all in and as a result, feel greasy afterwards which quickly disappears. Just as the name suggests, this truly is a moisturising body lotion as my body feels hydrated for hours after applying it which is down to it containing coconut oil and shea butter which makes it a truly nourishing formula. Unlike other body lotions where a little goes a long way, this doesn't so I've found myself needing a lot more than normal to moisturise my body which probably explains why I feel like I've gone through it rather quickly. As it is rather pricey, this is definitely a factor to consider although when they're handing out the No7 coupons, it does make it a lot cheaper. Overall, this is one of the best body moisturisers I've used to date and I will definitely be repurchasing once I've gone through my stash.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter

I'm a big fan of Soap & Glory bathing products and will always have a few of their products in my stash, fact. Recently, I've found myself feeling a little swamped in body moisturisers so I've made it my mission to start using a few up one of which is the Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter which is definitely one of their most raved about products.

The Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter (£10.50) is definitely one of those products at the higher price spectrum of drugstore products however is it most certainly worth the price tag. For starters, it smells of their original pink fragrance which is absolutely heavenly - if you've smelt this then you'll definitely agree! It contains softening shea butter and aloe vera which helps make this one very moisturising yet slightly addictive body butter. 

I like to apply this the minute I've dried my skin and I prefer to apply a lot and really spend my time, massaging it all in. As it is such a velvety, creamy texture, it sinks into the skin quickly and leaves the skin feeling extremely soft and moisturised which lasts for hours after applying it. Sadly, I find that I go through this far too quickly as one tub only lasts a month which is probably because I tend to apply a lot but as it's always on 3 for 2, I don't mind buying it frequently. Overall, this is a brilliant body butter and I recommend it to anybody who has dry skin or is looking for a very moisturising body butter.

Sanctuary Body Lotion

SANCTUARY BODY LOTION* - £5.50

Just like many bloggers, I find myself with quite stash of all things beauty including skincare and body care. With that being said, I seem to have enough body products to see me through until this time next year. One of said products is the Sanctuary Body Lotion that I received in the Sanctuary Spa Top to Toe Glow Pamper Tin which was a cheeky Christmas present bought by me for me.

The Sanctuary Body Lotion contains a revitalising mix of ginger and fragrant spices which helps stimulate the circulation as well as containing jojoba oil which provides nourishing moisturisation which lasts for a full twenty four hours or so it claims. I will happily admit and say that I did not read what the bottle says about it containing stimulating ginger until it came down to writing this review as whenever I've used this to moisturise my legs, I found that once I massaged it in, my legs would start to get a very warm sensation where in some cases, it honestly felt like my legs were burning. For the record, I don't have overly sensitive skin so I'm not sure if my legs were/are having a reaction whenever I use this which sounds odd saying this as it's just a body lotion and I haven't had any problems in the past using menthol products on my body.

Burning sensations aside, I find that this is a extremely light weight lotion that does take a little more elbow grease than normal to massage in and does a little while longer to sink it fully. Despite that, I do believe that it leaves my body moisturised for up to 24 hours which is quite a bold claim to make although I do only moisturise my body every other day. One more thing to mention is the packaging - don't let that little orange lid fool you! It is one of those bottles that has been designed to pour the product out and despite the lotion feeling light weight on the skin, it takes a quite a while to dispense so I have it sitting upside down on my skincare shelf which means that it comes out within seconds of tipping it upside down.

Jergens Original Beauty Lotion

JERGENS ORIGINAL BEAUTY LOTION -$7.24

I've always been fascinated by the Jergens Original Beauty Lotion as it's been raved about all over YouTube as one of the best body lotions available in the drugstores. It wasn't until I found it in my local Boots on offer that I finally caved in and bought it. The Jergens Original Beauty Lotion is one of those body lotions that is inbetween a lotion and a cream - feels light weight on the skin but comes out rather thick. It contains a blend of nourishing emollients that delivers long-lasting moisturisation which leaves the skin feeling soft for up to 24 hours complete with Jergens classic Cherry Almond scent.

Now as much as I do like this, I hate how quickly I'm going through it. A little certainly doesn't go a long way especially with this body lotion so I'm finding myself squeezing out quite a fair bit to moisturise my whole body and even then it doesn't feel moisturising enough to my liking. This also means that I'm standing around fanning myself for a few minutes waiting for it all to sink in. With that being said, I don't mind doing that as it means I'll be smelling like battenberg cake all day..

Unfortunately, you can no longer buy this from Superdrug or Boots which I'm assuming because they're were not selling as well over here in the UK.

Arora Body Butter in Sweet Vanilla

ARORA BODY BUTTER in SWEET VANILLA - £3.99

If you remember my review of the Arora Body Butter in Pink Grapefruit then you will know that I was a big fan of how moisturising it was on my skin. So much so that I decided to try out a different one in the form of Sweet Vanilla. The Arora Body Butter in Sweet Vanilla is both luxurious and moisturising with the sweet fragrance and extract of vanilla and rice milk. It contains nourishing shea butter and glycerin which not only helps to moisturise the skin but makes it feel soft and smooth after massaging it in.

Unlike the Pink Grapefruit, Sweet Vanilla doesn't smell too artificial although I can't actually tell as I love all things vanilla. The difference between the two is that this one literally melts to the touch which makes massaging it into the skin like a dream as it sinks into the skin almost instantly. As it does melt quite easily, I've found that I'm going through it at an alarming rate so I wouldn't be surprised if this features in my next monthly empties post. As much as I do love the scent and how moisturising it is, I doubt I would be repurchasing it purely because I want a body butter/lotion to last a few months with almost daily use instead of having to buy a new one every month.
